Listening to Ben’s Podcast he’s going after Broderick Jones.
Says his play needs addressed and what’s the OL Coach doing about it.
Says that James Harrison in his prime would get 15 sacks against Jones.
Also said that he isolated on a few plays and saw Jones standing straight up and other times not even hitting anyone.
Says he’s playing too high and not getting any leverage.
It’s funny, I looked at Jones on a couple running plays and he hit no one. He was just standing there.
He looked so lost it was sad. How do you not engage and hit someone on running plays.
Where the **** is Pat Meyer?

I've Been calling out Pat Meyer for a long time now, finally Ben Rolethlisberger is taking notice (from me).

How far a cry is this OL, watch footage in slow motion and you can see on most plays there are 5-players doing things fundamentally un-sound.

I know the player is some to blame but when all are doing crappy shitz, it shows the weakness of coaching.

Plug in 1 of the Andersons or McCollum... try something. Maybe one of those guys is hungry to succeed even if outta position. Can't be any worse.

I would pay alot of money to hear a private conversation between big Ben and Rodgers on the problems with the 2025 Steelers and the coaches and personnel lol.

Big Ben is correct.

The real problem, it's not just Jones. Seumalo was standing alone in the backfield on two separate running plays, I've watched every single one of our OL at one point just not hit anyone.

But that's what you get when you force scheme on players not create scheme because of players. We don't have zone blocking linemen, it's that simple. Line em up, tell them to block the guy in front of them.

The defense has a simplified scheme that requires the stars to play like superheros or else it fails and the OL has a scheme that sets the players up for failure. A bad combination for success.

The Oline is the weakness of this team and that does stem to coaching.

I’ve been surprised with Rodgers play. If he had any semblance of an nfl quality offensive line, the Steelers would be a pretty good team offensively.

One of the many downfalls of Tomlin. Any other coach uses the phases players play. Tomlin bases that as players play unless someone else is a first round pick.

The Steelers are an absolute **** show, and the game this weekend will probably be the last one I watch this season, only because of the venue and listening to EU fans.

And then we as fans question the RBs vision taboot!
It must be hard, really hard, for our RBs to anticipate if and where the hole or cutback lane will be with how a$$ this entire unit plays on a weekly basis.

Just think FiJi, at the end of your illustrious RB career, when you can hardly run and deep in your heart you want to retire……..

You put up just enough facade to get the Tomlin to hire and pay you big gauranteed money……….

You then proceed to get into the Tomlin deg house…………

Spend the season on the bench and collect your money…….

Nice $$$$ boost for end of career without much wear and tear…………………….

Play that tune “Great American Hero”

Kaleb Johnson has decided to do this at the start of his career……………

or is it the tomlin trying the RB out in a new role????

I saw an article on this. Very concerning because these are two completely different issues. Not blocking someone would typically be not understanding his role in a play call. It's a mental error, and on its own we can't know if it is on him or coaching.

Playing upright is technique and is a big problem. This is on coaching. This should have been worked on every day since he arrived in Pittsburgh and even for a raw prospect should not be happening at this point in his career. Kaleb Johnson can't pass block (which is a big part but not the primary part of the RB position) and doesn't see the field - and rightfully so. Broderick Jones can't even get into position to do his primary job. Project or not, first rounder or not, his *** has to be nailed to the bench until he learns to position his body to use his strength against his opponent instead of allowing his opponent to use his size against him. I can tolerate the odd mental error as part of the process, but I can't play a guy who can't even do the most basic of fundamentals.

9 and 8 is achievable with Jones in there. That and merchandise sales is all they look at.

I said to give him until just after the bye week. If he isn't improving, then they need to make a move after giving him the bye to work on his deficiencies.

Pat Meyer is the one constant in all of this. None of these young OL are progressing and you just have to look at Meyer.
This guy wasn’t good in his two previous stops but Tomlin brings him on.
Had a chance to hire Hank Fraley who now coaches the Lions OL but Tomlin chose Meyer.

Tomlin had trouble developing young linemen with pedigree the last time they went through this and just hired bad OL coach after bad OL coach. He clearly didn't learn from his mistakes. Munchak helped fix that mistake and the fact he hasn't realized Meyer isn't the answer is concerning.

Every old olineman who critiques the steelers Oline gripes about their technique.
Hoke was just griping about benton's technique
The wrs , the Tes.... every young db we get....

When its all technique issues its absolutely coaching.

Tomlin cant or wont hire top notch assistants and position coaches, thus players fail and the team languishes in mediocrity.

Absolutely. In the past 3 years, I’m sure Ben has whispered a time or 47 that the Rooney’s stupid “rule” cost him a 3rd or 4th ring.

The woke bean counter and D.E.I. can’t’ f*ck off soon enough.

Ah. Another salty hick bringing up DEI because their a lackbrain and cant form a cognitive thought on their own. You do realize black people and other people of color aren't your problem right? I understand you must feel some type of way because your ancestors literally squandered centuries of white privilege to be stuck in a cycle of white trashdom, but dont take it out on POC who now have a door opened to them. Do better not bitter.

Ben is justifiable in critiquing any position on the team. He isn’t just randomly blowing his mouth off, what he says is a very legitimate conversation.

B.Jones isn’t getting much, if any help from our game plan or technical coaching.

Replacing a bad OL scheme and OL-coach mid-season in this case, would not be a bad deal. Struggling through with this crap will be far more costly than bringing in the new coach / scheme (I’m not talking monetarily).

One can dream of an up-grade !!!

Yeah, or it’s being brought up because it’s directly applicable to the situation at hand. If you think we have 18 years of Captain Stupid for any other reason, please share that special insight of yours, NoClue#7.

Also, I’ll be at the Taproom Socail tonight around 930 if you want to stop by and talk to this “salty hick”. Let me know.

We don’t threaten, insinuate , or even remotely hint at violence here. The salty hick will have to go solo tonight.

What color hood will you be wearing so i can know which one is you? Or should I just look for the guy with the deer in headlights look with no teeth in his mouth smelling like somebody's musty crack??

Who was that OL coach for the Dolphins when their OL was decimated by injuries and they had like 2 street FAs and a UDFA brought in a couple days prior to whooping the Steelers ***?

We should give that guy a call and see what he can do with a bunch of early picks.
