IMHO--This kids performance to date certainly doesn't justify a 1st round pick...

Here is his stat line for last night:
0-0-0
And he accomplished all of this on his 47 snaps played!

Do the Steelers have another under performing number one on their squad?
Maybe Lowdermilk stole his jersey last night?

Not last night, but the early start for Harmon I thought has been good. He’s not going to put up numbers playing DL in this system. I have a much bigger issue with the stars not producing. Heyward has been below his normal level (somehow PFF ranks him first) and Watt isn’t producing sacks or enough pressures.

Whoever impersonated the guy that usually wears jersey #90 last night 😥. He's been on a milk carton since end of last November.

#90 even had a lot of one on one rush plays. I didn’t look stat line up, but I know he had a sack, was he involved in two?

Ziggy Hood says, “get on my level”

99 gonna have improve a lot to reach Hood’s prowess

Jaxson Dart looks better and better with every passing week…but hey keep focusing all the assets on this pathetic good for nothing defense

99 will hurt even more if Dart becomes a good NFL QB, unless he becomes Joe Greene lite perennial pro bowler candidate kind of player

The idea that the Steelers passed on Dart because of taking Harmon is laughable. Stop making up what ifs to justify the team playing like *** and the coaches not being able to change anything mid game. Harmon has been playing just fine until last night, even then, compared to the ones maxing out the cap he played fine again. One more time, they were NEVER picking Dart, regardless. Move on from that dumb **** already.

Comparing two players that were both available IS IN NO WAY TRYING TO JUSTIFY THE TEAM PLAYING LIKE ****, particularly the defense.

Simply put two guys were available
We spent more assets on defense, again
What has proven to be a failing concept in a QB driven league.

The fact that we could have selected Dart is in no way tied to trying to justify why the D played like an absolute pile of steaming 💩

If you can’t comprehend that that’s a you issue.

Newsflash Dart will also be compared to whoever the Steelers select in next year’s draft, it is inevitable. Comparing players and selections is something fans do.

But to confuse comparing the players with trying to justify that abysmal performance is beyond a stretch. How would have Dart made the defense better???? Would he have helped the D more that Harmon…see how stupid that sounds.

I’ll Continue to compare two players that could have been selected for as long as I wish thank you very much.

They did indeed pass on Dart when taking Harmon, move on from that dumbass pov that they didn’t

Cam has been mentoring him of course he disappears in the most important games.

Another perfect example of why PFF is an absolute laughable disgrace of a measuring stick for player production. The second they said ALMOST getting a sack was better than actually getting one with the TJ/Garrett debate recently is exhibit A 🤷🏻‍♂️

56, 97, 51, 6, 24, 5, 25, 95

Did any of these guys make more than one play during their jog around bungleville last night?
You didn't get the memo? They played well on Sunday,so they get Thursday off.

That's the standard, good one week and look like you've never played football the next. It's such a massive change from game to game.

I really hate this script.

Meh....they knew AARon was coming on board. They were in a win now belief. So they took a player they thought that would help out of the gate.

Yeap I get this, as long as dart is not a generational player I'm more than fine with the choice.

Playing just 2 DLs against the competition might ruin the kid though

DL especially DL here, take time to develop. Cam didnt start for 3 years... Aaron smith didnt start right away, Kiesel took years to develop.

Some positions can start out of the gate with few issues outside of adjustments to the NFL... like RB, others can play a limited set... most rookie wrs who get to play begin with a very limited set of routes and responsibilities.
For most positions in most systems the transition from college to the pros is way more complex than fans get.

Judging players before year 3 or 4 is really inaccurate... particularly within the first half of their first season.

Meh, the problem with the current state of the Tomlin Steelers
Reactive and always in a win now and get to 9-8 rather than building a future and being proactive

So a year later they’ll waste more assets than it would have taken to get a lesser player, but at least they’ll hopefully have that 25 Tomlinship to show for the sustaining of mediocrity

Not like Tomlin would know how to use a QB…so there’s that

But also not like Tomlin knows how to use defensive assets…so there’s that

Damn we should just trade all picks to future drafts to stockpile so eventually when we have a coach that can coach that said coach can form a roster and develop them

I don't know, I think Harmon has played well. Sure,, he needs consistency just as any rookie. But he stuffs the run and gets after the QB. On one play, he was double-teamed. He held them up and then pulled off and stuffed the runner at the line. I think he will end up anchoring the DL for a long time. Heyward is already looking fat and slow. I hope it was just one game.

“When you start talking about retiring, you’re already retired”———- Chuck Noll said something to mThis effect.

Cameron is falling of the deck, happens with age.

I think they should move Broderick Jones to DE opposite Harmon and put Black in the middle and use these 3 as a base DL with Heyward and Benton as situational rushers.

At least then we would have a steady 3 guys on the DL that can tackle for early downs. BJ showed real promise the way he blew up the QB last week and isn’t being used properly.

It’s not a measuring stick for production (i.e. stats), it’s a measuring stick for performance.

Learn ball.

Ok, so the year TJ clearly outplayed Garrett (performance as you say) they had Myles higher, did they not? That’s all I was trying to say.

Stats don’t necessarily mean performance on a play by play basis. TJ’s 19 sacks in 23 represented 2% of his total snap count. PFF grades every play.

Also, all sacks are not created equal. Unblocked sacks, coverage sacks, QB fall down and touch, etc. are different than whipping an OT or beating a double team.

BTW, for all the talk about TJ disappearing late last year, PFF was grading him as elite every week.

p.s. Sorry for the snarky “learn ball” remark, that was a dick move.

He completed 15 of 33 yesterday and threw a pick in the 4th with a 10-pt lead that Denver turned into a TD. Next drive, INC on 3rd after two runs, punt. Next drive, 1 for 6 with a sack but ran for a 1-yd TD.

I don’t have context because I didn’t watch, but that feels awful Pickett-esque.
