Presser crap, said, "they had to play a game in Cincy in less than ideal circumstances" WTF does that mean?
Then he actually said, "I want to give my defense credit for the one stop in the 4th qtr" HAHAHAHA, awesome they made that one stop, way to earn that 160 million!
This guy gets more delusional every week.
How does anyone still support this guy or want him as the Steelers HC? He's out here handing out participation trophies.

Platitudes, excuses, zero accountability or discipline being demanded of the team, poor concepts, no scheme adjustment, poor challenges, horrid clock management...It's the Mike Tomlin program and I refuse to watch it. Thank god for the Pens and soon, HS and college wrestling will be underway to keep me entertained through the cold months.

Translation: As long was we get to The Standard 9 wins, it's all good, what's one throw away game?

We kept them under 500 yards of offense with 470 yards. That's a win in my book.

Next time we'll play 15 yards off the ball.

Tomlin can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag on game day it's obvious now to most.

This is the same guy that several years ago actually said he didn't challenge a call in Cinci because it wasn't replayed on the Jumbotron.

Very few people support him anymore. But he says something in a press conference, and some of you guys gotta get all worked up over it...that's your fault. Stop listening to him after he talks about injuries.

Coaches say stuff just to get through press conferences. It's probably their least favorite thing. Ignore it.

He was getting shredded on The Fan this afternoon. That’s what a guy who answers to no one sounds like.

Obviously he meant that he was standing on the Steelers' sideline. Obviously.

One brilliant poster recently commented that the game he had just watched was good. And that HCMT 'didn't do anything stupid'. That about captures a splendid autumn Sunday afternoon.

We have no way of knowing if he got canned that things would improve, but we do know nothing will improve until he is.
The fact that there is no imagination to this team, no adjustments to a given situation is why opposing teams are no longer fearful of seeing the Steelers on their schedule.

We all know that Art II will never fire Tomlin, so the best that can be hoped for is that a new defensive coordinator is hired by committee and that Mikey is told to keep his fingerprints off the scheme.

This is it right here. We know exactly what we are going to get with Tomlin.

The star defenders are no longer playing like superheros and the collective effort in Tomlin's scheme--despite having a lot of talent on defense--is terrible. Same BS "miscommunication" issues each week and players saying "we need to execute." Same quotes, different players, different year.

I keep saying the offense finally has an adult in the room who holds guys accountable and is a true leader and it's making a difference. Rodgers is way beyond his prime, but still has that Hall of Fame football IQ and it's making up for his physical limitations. I also think he's doing his part to build the young guys who have struggled. To think I couldn't stand this guy prior to him coming here. I'll give the offensive coaching credit because they are building around Rodgers and the personnel they have to work with. We've also seen changes after playing pretty bad football the first few weeks and flipping the script.

If you're going to quote somebody then you have to be precise on what they said otherwise you just look like a jagoff seeking attention or being deceptive.... what he said specifically around the 3:20 mark is

...I thought we had a necessary stop on defense there with about 5 or 6 minutes to go in the game to give us another shot at it...

That's what he "actually said". What you did was paraphrase and INTENTIONALLY put a spin on it to make him sound dubious (not to mention removing all context) which is really a bush league move. Just so we're clear he already acknowledged very early in the press conference where the defense came up short in the game (i.e. penalties, not stopping the run, etc). He also stated earlier that they only really played a quarter of good football as a whole. His acknowledgment of the offense/defensive efforts to try and gut out a win didnt go unnoticed is all he was saying.

And later he said at 3:40 mark "as a collective [meaning team as a whole] I thought they fought in less than ideal circumstances"

This could easily be interpreted as playing on a visiting field in a short week.

I mean it really does no good as a head football coach to pile on endlessly w/o also looking at a silver lining if there happens to be one. The Eagles had a similar let down on Thursday night to the Giants who in my opinion are a worse team then the Bengals. It happens. I dont know what you guys expect from these press conferences. No one even really asks any tough questions at these things so hes not going to give them food for the fodder.

Go listen to Nick Sirianis press conference after Giants loss and prior to Vikings and then look at the fans response...Bunch of coach speak and then fans responding thats its a bunch of blabbering some even calling for his firing. Sound familiar??

I also think Arthur is a capable X and O coach.

I think they should can Austin like Canada and let Arthur run both sides.

I keep hoping the workload of putting together a gameplan (you know scribbling on a napkin for a couple minutes while he takes a dump) gets overwhelming for him AND some network/streaming platform comes along and offers the deer in headlights an offer he can’t refuse…it’s our only hope

Art is too stupid to get rid of him so it will likely take some outside influence.

That's interesting when you get the proper context. I just don't pay any attention to press conferences after injury updates. It is all bs just to get through it after that. I'm surprised fans who have been fans for a long time can't figure this out. They just need something else to be pisssed about. The performance of the team Thursday night and the lousy gameplan is enough for me. I won't get worked up over what he says on top of that.

So I'm guessing Tomlin was taken out of context when he talked about how this defense could do historic things? Or when he said this defense can cover anyone, no disrespect to the Bengals, he singled them out. I don't want to, and I know the fans are sick of hearing damn excuses from him. "We had a necessary stop in the 4th" YAY! What about the other drives.
Less than ideal circumstances sounds like an excuse, Bengals are missing their franchise QB, and their starting QB has been there 10 days, they are playing on a short week too.

Let me know when Siriani comes out before the Eagles have played one game and says how historic his defense or offense will be, how they can cover anyone, or when their players say we have the best defense in the NFL, this is the best defense I've ever seen. Is this the same Siriani that has more playoffs wins in 2024 than Tomlin does in the past 15 seasons?

Yep, they all say stuff like our defense is going to do historic things, or we can cover anyone in the NFL, no disrespect to the Bengals, but we can cover any team. Yeah that really sounds like he's just trying to get through it.

How many other NFL Coaches say this on a national Podcast?

It's easy to overlook the typical coach blabber, but when the guy that is leading your franchise says some of the dumbest things, like we didn't play Herbig because Cincy was running the ball on us, they threw the ball double the amount of times they ran it. Or when he's asked about Pickens being late, and he stares into the camera like a deer in the head lights, then says I don't remember.

I really think his support from the fan base is about as low as it can get. As someone else said though, we don't matter. Only Rooney does.
His players weekly seem to call out issues also. Slow to adjust if they adjust at all. Maybe Tomlin has to lose the team before Rooney will do anything. And everyone is buddies with Tomlin so.....🤔

I simply cannot stomach this fraud any longer.
Absolutely cannot listen any longer to these so called press conferences that the media refuses to grill him and he continues with his nonsense.
The success was early on and most know why, but the past fifteen seasons is all Tomlin.
The man has total control of player acquisitions thru free agency and the draft.
He is the architect of these football teams yet the accountability he has is alarmingly low if at all.
After 60 plus years of faithfully supporting this team I’m finding it more difficult to continue doing so.
Every season I have zero hope and zero confidence that Tomlin’s team will actually compete for a world title. I shouldn’t feel this way and it bothers me that it has gotten to this point and it’s all because a frightened, stubborn, intimidated, woke Rooney family has allowed it.
Tomlin would not have lasted as long as he has with these results with any of the 31 other teams in the league.
Sports in Pittsburgh is badly broken with horrible ownership by all three sports organizations.

I went through this years ago. I am now on to the "yay Steelers" phase, and just wait. I was a fan before Tomlin's era, and will be after. But for now, I wait. There is hockey, hunting, hanging with Mrs. Fan, etc.

I have to admit that I got suckered in on the 5-1 thing. Oh well. Back to the wait it out mode.
