Tomlin stepping down

Hopefully they can do better. And as someone recently noted, he's not exactly distinguished himself as a developer of QBs in Cleveland. Nor as one who can hire the right person to develop the QB
well that was Cleveland

I'm sure there are better candidates out there

maybe some young defensive coordinator

They better get a young offensive minded coach in here. No old ******* washed up retreads. No need to hurry, there are plenty of coordinators out there who are ready for their shot. ****** roster or not, knowing you'll get 20 years is a big deal for a first-time coach.
Absolutely. Unless someone thinks Lamar Jackson is still a top QB the Steelers job is the one everyone will want: stability, the most patient owner in professional sports, and a history of the franchise winning

Whoever they bring in is going to have a hell of a tough hill to climb to rebuild this team. In addition, we are going to be in CAP hell for a while too. There are too many over the hill, inflated contracts, and lack of depth to try to fix. This team needs a massive enema and a rebuilding from the top down. Fans need to be patient and give the new regime time to re-build and right the ship. IF Omar was actually responsible for building this team as it sits today, he should be shown the door as well. I don't envy the new regime or what they need to do.
According to over the cap, the only contract they have were they would lose money by cutting a vet is TJs. Cutting anyone except Watt, Fautanu and Harmon gives you positive cap space.

Get a solid HEAD COACH that can bring in the right OC, DC, and STC, as well as position coaches that can teach and develop. Be more concerned with what staff the coach believes they can bring in...THAT has been Tomlin's biggest weakness over the last 10 years.

Cap hell? How so we are near the top in cap space next year. We have a bunch of picks and plenty of space.

Estimated $39M in cap space before any needed cuts.

I think the next 2 years are estimated to be very good for the salary cap for the Steelers-of course, that all depends on what happens this year with whoever comes in and takes over.
