BTJR fits a Mike McCarthy offense and would be an ideal WR acquisition if it’s not a stupid deal.

New passing weapon unlockedHow far horizontally can our center snap it……….. could be 6 Wide *******…………
Salute the nation
So will he.
Exactly. Over paying for a WR when we need picks for other needs is stupid.I'd go draft instead. Round one. Cheap for 4-5 years.
Despite having more years on is contract, Thomas isn't worth more than Pickens. Pickens lack of production was a product of the offense and QB more than his ability. He also would've been the best available WR in the draft. Thomas' production decreased after a bright offensive mind arrived as head coach and there are players in the draft I'd rather have. If the Jags would take an actual 5th, maybe even a 4th, sure. Otherwise, pass.
With that pedestrian 40, C. Tate is now an option at 21.
For those who say the 40 doesn't matter, a 4.3 runner crosses the line about 6 feet 1 inch ahead of a 4.53 runner.
The list of successful receivers with an absolutely blazing 40 time isn't very long. 4.53 is just fine for a good route runner. With that pedestrian 40, C. Tate is now an option at 21.

Only receiver I would take at 21 is lemon..With that pedestrian 40, C. Tate is now an option at 21.

Hands, routes and speed are the key ingredients, in that order. That said, if the first two are near equal, I'll take the speed guy every time. The list of successful receivers with an absolutely blazing 40 time isn't very long. 4.53 is just fine for a good route runner.
Why didn't you use Randy Moss as your example for speed?Do route running, change of direction, hands, and catch radius matter? CD Lamb ran a 4.51. Kupp 4.62. JuJu 4.54. Amon Ra 4.51. Jerry Rice 4.71. Larry Fitzgerald 4.63. Chad Johnson 4.57.
Calvin Austin 4.32.
How would you rank them as wide receivers in the sport of tackle football?
I agree. I think the Steelers might take a look at KC Concepcion. Perfect fit with DK and Pittman, and you have your dynamic return man for the next 4-5 years. I heard about his speech impediment, and I liked the way that he addressed it head-on. Shows good character. He's had some drop issues, but those can be fixed. We can address the Wide Receiver position with our first round pick. Why trade for Thomas when we can get a top 4 WR in the draft?
Moss was a freak of nature, but no one was crowning him as the best route runner, and he has a reputation of taking plays off.Why didn't you use Randy Moss as your example for speed?

That's good. That's kind of my point. If you have the other tools, speed is a differentiator. It takes the top off a defense. My original point is that there's no way that Tate is getting picked in the top 5-7 due solely to his 40. There's a chance he'll be there at 21, but likely go between 12-16.He had that and all of those other things, too, and he wasn't as fast as Willie Gault or John Ross.
No way give me some Tyson 7 days a week plus one day.Only receiver I would take at 21 is lemon..
