My younger sister is a diehard liberal and still lives in the South Hills, my older sister is normal.
When Fetterman was running against Oz she defended Fetterman, saying he's extremely qualified and his recent medical setbacks were not an issue.
Now, not so much. I know better than to tease her, so I do it silently.

A friend who is a former state representative explained it to me this way.
If you take a side on a big issue, especially in a swing area or swing state, then half the voters will be mad at you and more motivated to vote against you the next time.
You will have less people mad at you if you accomplish nothing of substance but you will have a better chance at being re-elected.
He meant it as a criticism of the environment he walked into but after a few years he became part of the problem.

exactly. And solving the men in women's sports issue now, before primary season, takes away talking points during both primaries and the summer election festival.

The real issue is that all politicians are beholden to the electoral calendar and the funding needs rather than their constituency. Rather than fixing ****, they need wedge issues to divide and campaign on. Just like abortion and Dims for generations after Roe v Wade. They did nothing so they could continue to campaign on the devisive issue.
 
Terms limits solve this self preservation problem. You're in to serve, not make a career and a fortune off of it.


They only start talking about what they're going to do when it's election time and they to sucker the voters in again. Then it's back to piss off.

The dems are real good at this as they've controlled the blue cities for decades or more and nothing ever changes.

Well the dems have already tried to make it change by importing in tens of millions s of illegals to replace the voting block that's sick of their bullshit.


When does it change overall?
1.A third viable party that can get about 10-20% of the seats in congress.
2. A constitutional convention.
3. We collapse and all hell breaks lose. That debt can't grow forever. 39 trillion and counting.
