We drafted Dotson, but Tomlin didn't know how to use him or didn't think he was good enough, now he's a 3 year starter for one of the best offenses in football. Tomlin talked about how good Green could be at Center even though he never played there in college. I don't believe Colbert suddenly didn't know what he was doing in the draft, that was the Tomlin effect, the longer he was here the more power he had the worse everything got.

Very well said and exactly !!!!!!!

I agree about Dotson, but I think the Green thing was an organizational failing moreso than just Tomlin. The Steelers for decades were using guys at center who played guard to some degree or another. Way back to Jim Clack. Webster played some guard. Dermontii Dawson was mostly a guard in college. Hartings was a guard. Even Pouncey played some guard in college. I think the organization likes the idea of a guard that can convert, or a guy that has played some guard...maybe they think playing guard means they are more athletic.

But Green was undersized as a Guard, and even more so at center, in a division with massive DL, it was a disaster from the start...There were WAY better prospects that could have at least stuck on the roster in some way in the same round or even later. Green was a HORRENDOUS miss.

And I think passing on Dart last year was the Pickett effect. Still had PTSD from that pick and the epic failure that it was, and didn't want to risk a repeat. But Tomlin is gone, we have a new sheriff in town, it'll be interesting to see the rest of the pro day staff visits and who gets a top 30 visit. The list is just starting to fill out...

Absolutely. It was terrible thinking Green could play center. I am trying to understand the mindset. Maybe it was a arrogance. "We made it work before multiple times, we can make it work again. We are that good."

The worst part of the Green situation, was there was no plan B.

But all those guys played Center at some point, or were successful NFL guys and weren't thrown into the Center position as a rookie, Dawson started a handful of games at RG before the Steelers moved him to C, and he played some Center in College. Hartings was a very good Guard for 5 or 6 years before we signed him.

I hear what you are saying diver, but would like to add in that Green wasn’t in the same athletic category of those aforementioned guards turned centers.

Green was an attempt (cheap) to fix a hole, but even a layman could see it wasn’t going to work yet he was kept there near the entire season.

If he is thinking about retirement, he is already retired. Play somebody with some fire in their belly.

It appears that way, but I've been told it's no big deal, blah, blah, blah.

OTAs, throwing and timing build, personal between him/WRs chemistry………. Lord of reason to get him in there.

Geriatric is not a good look for either the team or the player, especially when player holds hostage the team.

Laughing stock is what we are now, two years in a row.

MM got thrown into this mess, curious to see him dig himself out.

Remember the 1 year Ben had a family wedding or something the week of OTA's and everyone lost their **** because he wasn't going to be there, but a guy that hasn't done a damn thing for this franchise gets to decide when he shows up or if he shows up.

Green was a colossal mistake, no argument there. But you placed the blame on Tomlin. I think in this case he surely has some, but I think it was more a scouting issue combined with past practice they had success with.

It’s a ****-show for sure. I never wanted a geriatric QB ever. Tomlin coached us into this episode of falice.

MM hopefully can get us out of this purgatory. He sort of had it thrown into his lap, but should be able to get moved on next season.

Art2 shoulders some of this as well.

No. I am certain they know or have a damn good idea already just like last time. The fans and media might not know but they do.

So they may know, whooptidoooo.

Him not being at OTAs etc……… are a big deal.

Fellow players not knowing is a big deal.

Installing a whole new offensive scheme is a big deal.

Not having your most important offensive player there is a big deal.

Sorry SIR, but these and other things do matter. Add in the other teams are laughing once again.

Is there any other team in the NFL whose QB1 isn't signed right now? Or any other player that is still "deciding" if he's going to play or not? This just seems like an ego stroke for Rodgers.

That is a LOT of assumptions you are making prematurely. Until those things actually come to pass it is ridiculous to get worked up about them in my opinion. I get we are bored and having to do but speculate but I don't see the point in worrying and getting upset when there may be nothing to worry about.

As I said there is likely not one right now. Just because we don't know doesn't meant they don't. They certainly act like they do know.

I’m not letting him or Kahn or Rooney get off that easy. They could have stopped all this nonsense by signing Willis to a 2-3 year deal quickly. Wiped the stink off. They are choosing to go this comfortable route. It’s a joke. I never thought Willis as a long term option(he might surprise me….jury still out) but I sure as **** know Rodgers is not.

Blame Rooney. Letting it happen last year was one thing……2 years in a row is a joke. Quite the plan here, quite the direction they are going here. I don’t give a **** if they’ve got some type of verbal agreement. Just do it already. I hate to say it,but I would have rather them sign Kyle Murray for 1.3 on a prove it deal instantly instead of this bs again.

I'd rather have anyone that's still young enough to be the guy on a prove it deal over Rodgers who is 100% not our future guy.

What's the point? Why does every other team sign their guy pretty quickly, except us since Ego man has come into the equation this season and last. We announced and inked Wilson as soon as it happened.
