I agree he is a work in progress. But the guy looks to be a player. Hopefully he is a NFL stud and we can all look back at this thread and laugh and talk **** about our 7th.

He obviously needs some work returning as we could see he was dancing. Also the Giants punter is one of the best in football and the long high kicks didn't leave DRI with much running room. He looks blazing fast. That was NOT a trumped-up BS 40 time, where a 4.48 guy trains his *** of for months to shave his time down. The catch-and-run was awesome; the Giants were backed up nicely but still had trouble pinpointing him. He certainly had a real offensive role, which surprised me. If that's an indication of how far along he is, then I'm happy. I didn't see his returns, just a fair catch he called for, so I don't know how he looked there.

His red flags are very real, and he is a dependent guy - one who needs very specific game planning to get him into space and uncovered underneath - but he had a fine debut.

No problem cool hopefully next week he will have more chances. He did look comfortable to me catching the ball. Jury still out on his skills returning the ball. The ref did make a point to tell him to give a clearer fair catch signal.

Listen, I know we all come here to talk football, and I get that in the off season it's a nice thing that we have this site. The problem is the tunnel vision that happens, and I think some are more prone to it than others, I swear they act like not one person who has not done everything in college has ever come to the nfl to expand a skillset. It happens all the time, an nfl team will take a guy who was a pretty good qb, and turn him into a wr. The two things you need to return punts are speed and hands. The extra thing you need is on field awareness, that's if you want someone who isn't fair catching a bunch just to be safe (something recently our buddy AB has taken to doing, and I can't say as I mind, since he rarely muffs them).

At any rate, I too hope he does well, but if he does, that's great, but the question is, will people ever truly learn that perhaps investing 2700 posts in largely ripping a guy makes a hell of a lot of crow to eat, and of course, every one of those ripping him will only feel they need to say "oh sorry, I was wrong" and then proceed right along to the next guy, and start it all up again next April, or May, or when the **** ever they hold the draft this coming year.
