Draft 2017 - deljzc

Does TMC frequent any other boards?

Call me crazy but i would rather have Ryan Anderson than Tim Williams. Williams has the measurables but i think he's dumb. Anderson looks to have a high football IQ and leadership shills. He loosk to me like he can be a James Harrison type rusher.

Does TMC frequent any other boards?

he visits one that I know of, but he doesn't do the work he put in here...................

In the mock I made I got Lawson, Adoree Jackson, Legget and Hunt in the first three rounds, 3 of 4 of your top 50. Not bad at all

This is a very good article about some flags prospects are carrying around with them that my film study has a hard time including in the evaluation process. We talk all the time about the information the teams have and we don't and how even a 15 minute interview can push a player up/down a team's Big Board. Some of these guys have complex histories:

Would love to get:

1. Lawson OLB
2. Wilson CB
3. Henderson WR
3b. Leggett TE
4. Hunt RB

Combine weigh-in news Day 1 (Wednesday):

1. Leonard Fournette showed up too heavy: 240 pounds. When you watched his tape from 2015 vs. 2016, I thought he looked a tad slower on his explosion through the hole. Maybe that was his ankle injury, but it might also be weight gain. There are rumors at LSU the coaches wanted him to lose weight. He's a more talented back than Eddie Lacy, but 10 extra pounds can **** up even the best athletes. We'll see if this effects his 40-time. I would also suspect he skips a few of the drills at each step because of endurance issues.

2. Julie'n Davenport, the small-school tackle prospect from Bucknell already made himself some money. He measure a solid 6'-7", 318 pounds but more importantly has 36 1/2" arms. That is huge and the longest of any O-line prospect this year. If he moves well in his drills, teams will be watching 6-8 games of his tape looking for reasons to draft him.

3. Christian McCaffrey might be too small to be a RB. He came in about 1" and 10 lbs. lighter than some listed sizes on him (he's 5'-11" and 202 lbs.). In addition he has short arms (30") and small hands (9"). He had some games where he fumbled in the past and this weigh-in doesn't alleviate those concerns and might actually cause some GM's to revisit the tape. He's a great weapon, but could end up more of a hood ornament to an offense and not an engine.

So with this draft, who do the Steelers select at #62? I thought about Gerrald Everett but I'm not sure that sounds like a Steelers type of move. Ju Ju Smith-Shuster is still out there but I think he falls a bit. Do we want someone like him?

No one is going to mock the mock and tell me who they pick at #62? I'm kind of torn on who to pick.

just to make Omar happy

they go back to back LBs and take Tyus Bowser....

Zay Jones is making himself some money too. He's in the mix if we are thinking about WR in round 2

I'm almost convinced the Patriots take him at 32 and make him into either another Kevin Faulk/Danny Woodhead or Wes Welker/Julian Edleman.

When you can find guys like that late in drafts, why spend a 1st round pick on one?

Tim Williams makes sense if the off-field stuff drops him down. Belichick and Saben are close friends and Saben will tell him the real story of the kid. If Belichick passes on him, that's probably not a good sign. But then again, Belichick is one of the hardest guys to "mock draft" because he can just pick completely random guys that no one seems to know about (wish Tombert would keep who they like as close to their vest as Belichick does).

Billacheat is good at hiding things water is wet. When you cheat for so long I am sure you develop really good hiding skills.

Tim had a so so combine. I don't think he did himself any favors.

Same with Harris .....\\ Reddick is starting to grow on me.

After all we have a gay a **** burns

not out of the question to think there might be a red dick thrown into that equation.

:pimp:

THANK YOU Deljzc for all your time / in put / knowledge / ect. Ect !!!!!! This helps guys like me who are NOT into the draft as heavy as others. Your the bomb and again thank you.

Salute the nation

Lots of changes coming to the big board now that all the combine information is available and compared to my film notes.

As things are coming together I have a couple thoughts specifically about the Steelers.

1. I think the best value talent wise when we pick at #30 will be at cornerback. When you compared pure grades on the possible OLB prospects available (McKinley, Williams, Lawson) and consider their off-field issues vs. the possible CB's that could be available (White, Tabor, Jones), I am kind of thinking the CB's are better football players with better risk/reward.

2. The opposite might be in round 2, where I think you might have either T.J. Watt, Tyrus Bowser or Derek Rivers fall to us as good weak side OLB prospects.

3. In round 3 with our two selections, you might hope that the deep pools of 3rd round WR's and TE's become available.

4. In round 4, I think you have to go back to CB as there are so many in this draft you could get a normal 2nd round or 3rd round graded kid in round 4 just because everyone is pushing positions of need. Or maybe a safety because of the same reasons.

It all depends on how the draft falls. I don't think you can pigeon hole yourself into a position. I still do feel the Steelers might have just did that last year in Burns but got lucky. Anyways, I would be happy going with a Edge, CB, S, or ILB 30 if the value is there. Those to me are our true NEED positions and then after that I would say TE, WR, RB. Then (assuming Ben doesn't retire) QB, OL, and DL. Not saying if the value isn't there I don't jump at a QB in the third or a DL in the third.

As far as CB vs OLB I feel OLB is a bigger need. I feel Burns has progressed nicely, Cockrell while might not be a star is a decent #2, and if we can get anything out of Golson we might be good for our top three spots. Now Cockrell will be a free agent next year so that is why CB is a bigger need but we could always extend him and then the need would not be so great. Harrison is 39 (may 4th) and I can't fathom he plays at this level for 2 more years. If he can play 250 snaps and get 5 sacks next year I would be amazed. Chick is a serviceable backup. After that what do we got? I say we get a Reddick, Cunningham, Williams, Lawson etc if they are there and see if we can snag a CB like Moreau, Awuzie, or Lewis I would be very happy with the beginning of that draft.

Again, all depends on who is still on the board when you draft.

Reddick would play ILB in our system. If we sign a good FA corner, then maybe we go the Reddick route and draft an OLB in rd 2.

...why? Because he's a undersized college defensive end?? Not saying he couldn't play ILB but he's a natural fit for OLB in a 34. I would say Cunningham would play ILB before Reddick.
