Fire Todd Haley thread

I don't blame Haley as much as Tomlin to get the team ready to play, lack of blocking, tackling, coverage and execution on the field does not fall on Haley. Yes some of the plays calls are suspect. But Tomlin leads the show, we continue to throw deep which is not working, we don't throw in middle of field or use the TE in receiving , Last I saw Tomlin has a head set on , is in meeting with game plan, and still has the deer in head lights look as if he does not know what to do next.

Well, you're wrong.

I just got on this site about a week or so ago but I have a feeling you are somewhat sane. So, you can't honestly tell me that you think this team feels like a 7-2 team.

This 2017 schedule has to be the easiest schedules in the NFL.Out of the first 9 games only 3 of the opponents were truly playoff caliber - Minn ; KC ; Jax. The Vikings were off their game in week two, with Keenum completely clueless in his first start. Then they got their ***** handed to them by Jax. And against a KC a freak play went from a pick six for KC to game saving catch.

And the best QB we have faced threw for over 400yrds against us.

It's been a weird season. We might be 7-2 but I have yet to see this team look like the type of team that can beat NE in the playoffs.

And that's all that matters - beating NE. It doesn't matter if they end the regular season 14-2. All that matters is if they can beat NE in January.

And any sane fan will agree that they definitely don't look like a team that can do that.

They did beat a undefeated red hot Chiefs team. Of course the ring is all that matters. That is why they play the game...

There are only 5 good teams in the league. The rest is mediocre to dogshit. We can't play the best 5 teams every week, so yes we look like a 7-2 team. Especially if you don't just focus on O and take a look at the D every once in a while. Broncos won a Superbowl with a terrible Manning because of defense.

In addition to the 2 pt. play, who made the call with 2 minutes left in the game to not even try to score? Doesn't that come from Tomlin or does it come from Haley? With 2 minutes, they ran the ball and then just let the clock tick down and ran another short play. They weren't trying to get down field and get a FG to win the game. They were content to go to OT. I was screaming at the TV until Bryant broke his short 3rd down play and got us to the 50 with under a minute to play. Then Ben scrambled and got the throw to AB to get us in FG territory. Why weren't they trying to move down the field from the beginning to WIN in regulation? Whose call was that? They should be fired!

I am all for this. So sick and ******* tired of 5 wide on 3rd and 1.

Hey...at least we don't have a double fake reverse statue of liberty flea flicker on 3rd and 1, so count your blessings.

Also, major points deduction for lack of proper format. The correct format is 5 WIDE, *******!!!

It's time for Haley to go. Every week, i see teams with far less talent putting up big numbers. Look at the Rams. They have a WR corps featuring guys the Bills didn't think were good enough, Watkins and Robert Woods. They also have Cooper Kupp.

Look at how completely inept the Rams were last year and how explosive they are this year. It's not just because they added Watkins and drafted a slot WR. It's because they are attacking all parts of the field. Vertical and horizontal.

Same with the Pats. Each week they attack the defense's weakness. One week they throw to the WRs, next week it's running, next week it's passes to TEs and RBs. It all fits together and the defense can;t focus on any one thing.

No team in the NFL should be able to confuse and threaten defenses like the Steelers. They have one of the better OLs in the game. They have the most versatile RB. The best WR. One of the best deep threats and JuJu who is becoming one of the top slot WRs.

This steeler offense can literally do ANYTHING they want. Despite that, it seems like each week their playbook has about 10 plays in it. Worst part is they are not actually good at anything.

4th and goal, game on the line. What play do they run? I have no idea because the steelers have no idea.

What do they do there? Probably go empty set and hope the defense forgets to cover AB.

Can't say it much better than this. On paper, we should be unstoppable

Haley was a Tomlin hire, so clean out the man who made the bad decision, and upgrade at head coach.

Tomlin fired Arians. We had far less red zone blues with him and a shaky OL to work with.

The agenda must be pushed

Don't fool yourself. As I said earlier, total freak play - should have been a pick-6, turned into a huge reception by Brown.

Oh im sure Haley has that one drawn up. He is just saving it for 4th and 1 when we are barely out of FG range.

Bingo, we have always moved the ball quite well, but that takes any control away from the coaches so we rarely see it.

I agree with letting Ben run this offense. Let Haley go coach golf somewhere and keep cool shades out of the way and we’ll be fine. He can take the credit in February as being a great coach.

Alex Smith agrees with you...

Oh, and the D still won that game with 400+ yards. You do understand that yards for a QB do not translate to wins right? Most of the top record holders for yardage thrown were from teams that were behind and had to pass. A lot of OT games and a lot of losses in that group of QBs.

Alex Smith agrees with you...

He should.

Look, I won't argue with you. If you wanna fool yourself and say this looks like a team that can beat NE in the playoffs then go for it. I'm just being honest with myself.

Read that while Haley grew up around the game at tge highest level he himself never played. Very telling in my opinion.

They've looked like juggernauts and had their ***** handed to them by NE.

Bring back the bubble screen - there, I said it.

Why can't we ever get the easy yds? Watching Carolina last night I couldn't help but think we would have been a tight game with Miami as we would never attack their weakness over the middle and would find a way to go 3 and out on most drives after two runs up the gut and a long incompletion

someone said that Tomlin and Haley tries too hard to look smart and go 5 miles to get 10 feet, and I do believe that. They can't go simple and get the easy yards. A lot of it is gut it out, grind it out and hang on. I could not see this team go to Denver(or NE) and put a whipping on them like the Pats just did. The team is not made to play that way or has the knockout mentality. They very well should or could, as they have the horses.

They are doing nothing until maybe the offseason.

But something else is wrong if the offense had 6 30 plus games each of the last two years and none this year.
I'm hoping it has just taken time to get a rookie WR broken in and Bryant getting the rust knocked off. Most encouraging
thing about Colts game to me was Bryant making a number of positive plays.

Now you know that's not true. Heck, a bunch of y'all were on here when Haley was hired telling us how the Rooney's made the decision to fire Arians (after Tomlin told him he'd be back) and hire Haley. You just can't have it both ways. smh

Well, if you're gonna go all "stats" on us ... 7-2 is a stat that works for me; while recognizing that improvements need to be made. Give Fichner the game planning duties, let Ben run the up tempo offense and let's go on and win a bowl.

It's that Steelers arrogance all over again ' "We're going to do it our way, men, we just line up and beat them no matter what, we don't need no stinking gameplan, we play Steelers Football!, teams should just lie down and quit when we walk on the field!"

Huff huff, chest bump!

I coached youth football with a guy who coached defense at the college level for 30 years. He said tge biggest favour an OC makes is trying to trick the DC by attacking the defenses strength thinking the defense will compensate for its shortfall. For example passing in a crucial situation when up the gut has worked all day. Over chess.

Ummmm, we converted the 2pt try and won the game.

Ravens fired their OC because they lost and didn't attempt a single run with Ray Rice in the 2nd half loss to us.

Not seeing the parallel.
We passed the ball times and only ran 19 against the worst run defense in the league againstchicago . We lost the game too
