So Tomlin tells the NBC analysts that he’s looking ahead to playing the Pats and all the fireworks. Why I ask? Is this not sending the wrong message to your team? Should he not be sending the message to only look at the next weeks opponent?
This is concerning when your HC sends this message and has to make one wonder if the team can overlook lesser opponents.

I really wish Tomlin hadn’t said that on the air and worse, I hoped he wouldn’t be sending that message to his team.

This is not a bash Tomlin thread but only would like to find out what others think.

This isn't anything new except he went public with it. The team takes on the COACH's persona and for a long time now the "team" has overlooked lesser opponents. It's directly inducive to head coach overlooking lesser opponents. . Spin it how ever one wants but that's been a thorn for quite sometime.

Salute the nation

Tomlin was asked during his post-game press conference to reveal what compelled him to say what he did to Dungy about his team’s Super Bowl chances in addition to him uncharacteristically looking ahead to a future meeting against the Patriots

“He asked for non-coach speak,” Tomlin said of his interview with Dungy, who he used to work under when the two were with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. “So, I was having a conversation with an old friend. You know I’ve got respect for this process. We’ve got a good football team. I’ve got a great deal of confidence in them. Everybody in America knows that’s a big game, ok. We couldn’t deny that if we wanted to. You guys are going to ask us about it between now and then. So, I stand by the statement.”

Im tired of the scared of the Patriots BULLSHIT. And again im of the mindset the Dec 17 game doesnt mean ****. So what if we win. So what if we get home field. The Patriots have no fear for coming into Heinz field in January. So there is no home field advantage. We will beat them one way by kicking their ******* teeth in no matter where the game is

Tomlin good for you to step up to the preacher man comments. You have a talk with a friend??? and he puts it to you on National TV for his own agenda.

What he didnt know the interview was going to be on tv. Smh

After last year all we focused on is that the Steelers need to fix the roster and their scheme to beat the Patriots. They are clearly the top two teams in the AFC and no matter what happens between now and the playoffs, these two teams should be on a collision course for a second meeting. I want to see this team get home field throughout the playoffs. I know they have a lot of business to take care of, but getting over that hurdle in a few weeks will be a big part of it.

This is so stupid.. who gives a damn. This plays no part in whether we will win or lose that game vs the patriots. Also, it plays no role in the games vs bengal and ravens leading up to.
Let the media run with it and make a little story for themselves. In the meantime, we will be ready.
Stop treating the patriots like some taboo word that should never be used. Man up, we’re going to play them no matter what.

Spot ******* on, I'm so tired of hearing about the shitbag Pats and how people need to play the perfect game to beat them and all the other horseshit. Years ago all the sportswriters were asking who would "Earn the right to play the Pats in NE" well, then they **** the bed against the ******* Finz and came to Pittsburgh. Yes, they won, but they did in fact come here to do it, unlike all those who were on their nutsack had predicted.

**** The Pats.

It's on Steeler nation's minds too.....

I hope this football team is not overlooking two AFC North rivals the next two weeks.
I think some things you just do not say whether its suppose to be behind the scenes or not.

It's OK to think about who you need to beat. The best team is the Cheats and we will face them at least once this year. But, we have to play week to week. Last night should have been a laugher. The Rats shut the Pack out the week before. We made them look like Marsha and the Cheats. We have 2 very tough division games back to back and then play the Cheats. If we look ahead at all for these next 2 weeks, we could easily lose to both the Bungholes and the Ratbirds. Both teams are playing better and the Rats are fighting for a wildcard spot with a very good D. They won't be easy wins.

There is no way the Steelers look past Cincy or Balt. Cincy, you have to be ready, or your season may be over, taking a hit from those headhunting thugs.

Ravens is the best rivalry in football, and will be the only thing on their minds when they play.

I ain't skeered...

Well, the cool thing is the next to are division games (looked it up) so we shouldn't have any problem getting up for them.

I actually prefer that Tomlin only refer to the pats***** as The ********.
