And to echo what Steelworth said, the turnover is unsettling. Either Trump is a pain in the *** to work with, or they are just tired of all the **** swirling around the administration and are leaving to save their sanity. Personally, I think it is likely both.

Trump appointee guts UN document on racism, says leaders don't have duty to condemn hate speech

Washington (CNN)A Trump administration appointee to the State Department tore into standard UN documents that condemn racism as a threat to democracy.

The deputy assistant secretary for refugees and migration, a foreign service officer promoted by the White House to an unusually senior position for his rank, disputed the idea that leaders have a "duty" to condemn hate speech and incitement, and repeatedly rejected use of the words nationalism, populism, and xenophobia.

"The drafters say 'populism and nationalism' as if these are dirty words," wrote Andrew Veprek, the deputy assistant secretary for refugees and migration, in documents obtained exclusively by CNN. "There are millions of Americans who likely would describe themselves as adhering to these concepts. So are we looking to here condemn our fellow-citizens, those who pay our salaries?"

And he repeatedly argues against using the word "xenophobia," or the fear of foreigners, writing in side notes that he has concerns over "the malleability of the term now and in the future."

"What real or perceived offense is next to be considered 'xenophobic?'" he writes. "How does that square with our historic respect for the right of free expression? The drafters need to focus on behavior and actions - which states can control - rather than attitudes and states of mind."

For the first time in decades an official from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services spoke at the National Right to Life convention. Roger Severino, director of the Office for Civil Rights said at Thursday’s convention that his organization is “just getting started.”

Carol Tobias, president of the National Right to Life Committee, told the Wichita Eagle News that his speech was significant.

“The leadership at HHS is very committed to protecting unborn children,” Tobias said. “Their willingness to send a representative to talk about conscience protection and to reassure pro-life people that they’re going to work to protect the babies, it was just a nice, very uplifting, very encouraging good message from the administration.”

President Trump calls for another round of tax cuts, further reductions to corporate tax rate

President Trump on Friday said he wanted to further lower the corporate tax rate, from 21 percent to 20 percent, as part of a second round of tax cuts later this year.

Trump, in an interview with Fox News to mark the six-month anniversary of the $1.5 trillion tax-cut law Republicans passed last year, said other parts of the new tax plan would be tailored to the middle class.

“One of the things we’re thinking about is bringing the 21 percent down to 20 and for the most part, the rest of it will go right to the middle class,” Trump said. “It’s a great stimulus.”

Trump said the tax plan would be ready by October, “maybe a little sooner than that.”

If Trump truly wanted to drain the swamp he'd have to pull the plug on himself, his cabinet and his own family. Jared and Ivanka made $80M+ since the election? The constant corruption and waste surrounding Scott Pruitt and Ben Carson? The pay-to-play schemes involving Trump Hotels and properties? Loans for Kushner and trademark rights for Ivanka from foreign governments trying to cozy up to the President? The swamp has never been deeper or more expansive than it is now. It just happens to have Trump's name on it. That's all that's changed. All of this completely ignored by the GOP and the base, as if it's not happening. That's what makes this presidency not just one of the worse of all time, but also the most cynical.

U.S. Assessing Cost Of Keeping Troops In Germany As Trump Battles With Europe

The Pentagon is analyzing the cost and impact of a large-scale withdrawal or transfer of American troops stationed in Germany, amid growing tensions between President Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, according to people familiar with the work.

The effort follows Trump’s expression of interest in removing the troops, made during a meeting earlier this year with White House and military aides, U.S. officials said. Trump was said to have been taken aback by the size of the U.S. presence, which includes about 35,000 active-duty troops, and complained that other countries were not contributing fairly to joint security or paying enough to NATO.

Word of the assessment has alarmed European officials, who are scrambling to determine whether Trump actually intends to reposition U.S. forces or whether it is merely a negotiating tactic ahead of a NATO summit in Brussels, where Trump is again likely to criticize U.S. allies for what he deems insufficient defense spending.

Not sure who you're referring to. Cannot be me, as nobody's held a stauncher or more consistent anti-Russian position than I have over the years. Probably cause my whole family, including my father, grandfather and several uncles all fought against the Communist regime that decided to 'stick around' in Central Europe for forty years after WWII. I see full well what Putin's been doing over the past decade or so, trying to reshape Europe and regain the foothold lost with the collapse of the Soviet Union. He finally has a true friend and ally in Trump who's working hard to help him achieve his goals.

Even a sitting Democrat congresswoman, “Mad Maxine” Waters, encouraged the public to “absolutely harass” White House officials anytime they see them in public spaces.
