Talk about LeVeon Bell in one place

Dumbass should have signed the Steelers' offer and all of this drama could have been avoided. To be in the ranks of Franco, Jerome, Rocky Bleier, Willie Parker, etc and could have sat at the top among the greats of the franchise, Something that is more valuable than money, to be a beloved Steeler. There is a lifetime of wealth there. It's not like he would be eating Roman Noodles for the rest of his life, either. Like many other Steeler fans, he's starting to tick me off.

I think at this point they can put him on an exempt list when he reports and they don't even have to give him full salary for the first two games.

I think he has to play in 6 games to make the season official per his contract. I would almost bet he comes back week 10.

Even if this is the way it plays out, put him on the inactive list for the rest of the games.

Rescind the tag and start the running back by committee come Sunday with samuels and Connor. **** him. Honestly. He needs more exposure to what we have going on and have been trying to build with a “new” offense. He needs to get with the program or ****** bounce. Colbert should work some magic and get this guy out of here. Get some trade value from him while we still have the chance!

I think once he wants to report because of the two week exemption that would be the time to attempt to trade him if he isn't willing to buy in on the season.

If he's traded I'm assuming it will be to the NFC. And probably to a team that we don't play. So in the NFC West, the Rams/Cards/Seahawks are set at RB. Niners seem like the obvious choice, I think they have or can make cap room. In the North GB/DET have iffy RB tandems but I'm not sure either would trade. Chi and Minnesota (much less set) have solid run games.

In the East NYG and Dallas both set at RB. Washington possible trade partner. Philly running game is solid.

TL:DR if we trade him I'm guessing it's to SF or Wash

So.. someone with deeper knowledge of the deadlines and things help educate me.. what does Me’Veon gain from this? The deadline for a long term deal has passed, so he’s not getting #MackMoney from the Steelers. And they can’t trade him until he’s under contract. What’s he hoping to gain? Screw the Steelers by driving down his own trade value?

Time to throw his crap in the garbage, he does not want to be here, he feels he is worth way more than most, why give in to him game 10 that so many feel he will come in on, Steelers won't get anything for him, so why should the Steelers even stroke Bell by making any comment at all. Waste of time on a player that has completely shown his character. Finally have to admit don't care go with these young guys, stroke them who knows, we have plenty og fire power on offense.

Important dates are Oct 30 and Nov 13(might be the 14th).
Oct 30 is the trade deadline. If he reports after this he can't be traded obviously. But if he doesn't report by the November date he can't play this year.

Tibs I keep telling him that as others have countless times.

Coach, if you’re listening. We cannot move LevBell until he inks the contract for the franchise tag.

I'm listening. He has an agent. Let him sign the tag, then the Steelers can change his jersey # to 86'd the moment another team offers something for Bell.

So tired of Bell and his drama.I love his talent but that is where it starts and ends.

From Pouncey:

Jeremy Fowler
@JFowlerESPN

Maurkice Pouncey: Le’Veon Bell will be here Wednesday. Count on it. Says he hasn’t been told that directly but he cites what he knows about Bell, that he won’t stay away

Take that w/ a grain of salt, obviously.

I think he has to show up Tuesday or he forfeits week ones pay. That’s 852,000 reasons why. He could holdout until week 8 but that’s 5,111,000 reasons not to. Also, what if Conner and Samuels look awesome? Then GMs start thinking it’s the line or the system and his value drops.

Nope, he’ll show up 30 minutes before he has to make Tuesday count.

If that is what it takes to count the week, i agree. I had guessed Tuesday, anyway

If he cannot have the courtesy to tell his coach and teammates the exact day of his arrival (There is no leverage anymore. It simply is what it is). I'd have serious concerns about his commitment to the team. As soon as he puts his name on the contract I would contact those teams that are in contention, with cap room this year and highest bidder gets him.

Reading all the info and comments and Harrison and his thoughts...….exactly why would the Steelers have him sign anything if Bell does not show till game 10? What benefit would this be,? plus the negative thoughts of the players that would have gone through the pains of the ten games and you as owner of the team would entertain going along with this scenario? Bell has made it clear he does not want to be here....why why why does the Steelers allow him to hold the team up to his ego.

Steelers should make it publicly known that they are open to listen to offers on Bell. That will force his greedy *** to show up and sign... rheen the asterlers can run the piss out of him until they get what they want for him and let him walk and let another team pay him all the money he wants.

He’s no longer welcome in Pittsburgh.

Hopefully he blows out his knee at the strip club

correct me if I am wrong but didn't he say he would report just like he did last year, and that this would be his best year yet? when did he report last year?

September 1st. Nine days before the opener.

If he's willing to do that. He may choose to squeeze the Steelers this year, show up week 8 or whenever, basically sit out the rest of the season with a hammy, then hit the open market and pick whatever team that's willing to pay him what he wants. Why play another down with the big payday he envisions coming around the corner?

I'm afraid the only thing to hope for is a high comp pick in next year's draft. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems this entire Bell situation has gone straight down the toilet.

If Bell holds out that would give the Steelers around an extra 9 million. They could roll that money over and use the savings to transition tag him during the off season and possibly match other offers with the money saved. So Bell doesn't necessarily hold all the cards.
