Steelers Defense......What Happened to our STEEL CURTAIN?

Who the **** is responsible for this **** show on Defense? I've watched Steelers football for almost 45 years and I've never seen our Defense look worse! After the 2014 season they ran LeBeau out of town because they felt the game had passed him by. Now four years later we have this **** show of a Defense and someone needs to be FIRED for this Defense they put on the field. Fundamentally these guys can't tackle a player with the football, generate a pass rush from their OLB's, cover receivers, stay in their gaps or handle OL that pull from their position to block downfield.

Years and years of drafing Defensive players in Round 1.....Jarvis Jones, Ryan Shazier, Artie Burns, Bud Dupree, TJ Watt, Terrell Edmunds....... And with the exception of Shazier & Watt I'll reserve judgement on Edmunds for a few years we have 3 our of 5 players who are absolute garbage! Jarvis was attrocious. Burns is complete trash....he should change his name to "BURNED" on his jersey. The only splash plays he makes is the penalties he gets for being a dumb ***! Bud Dupree couldn't hold the edge in a High School Football Game. The guy can't tackle and he has no business being on a NFL roster!

No late last season we heard that Tomlin has more power on the Defensive play calling than Butler did.......is this Tomlin's fingerprints on this Defense? Butler looks like one dumb mother ****** who has about as many brain cells as he does teeth!

This is what the Steelers Defense has become. A Bunch of undisciplined players who can't play good solid fundamental football. THIS IS ALL ON THE COACHING STAFF! I don't know if it's Tomlin, Butler, Porter or whoever else on our Defensive coaching staff....BUT SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE FIRED!

Our D has really gone downhill since LeBeau left and Butler was put in to front for Tomlin actually running the D.
 
I dont think that discipline is in Tomlin's skillset. It is a glaring deficiency imho.
 
Our Steel Curtain rusted.

Too fundamentally off which is kinda odd for a pro player.
It was a good run. I think now is the time to consider a rebuild
 
The blame ultimately resides with Tomlin and Colbert.

They clearly do not have a clue how to build a secondary. It's been a total shitshow back there since Polamalu, Taylor and Clark fell out of their primes.
 
Its a bunch of things but none bigger than the loss of Ryan Shazier. Dude was really, really good and was coming in to his prime years.

5 first round picks on D, 6 if you count Shazier. No excuse for the lack of discipline, constantly missing assignments, missing tackles, etc. Said it before and will say it again, without Ben, Tomlin gets fired 5 years ago.
 
The whole Steeler identity is gone. That warm feeling awaiting a game or a season is fading for me. I use to watch the whole game no matter how bad it was. Now I walk away and it don't bother me at all. That is a shame..

I get the feel good story, this defense was **** with Shazier as well. This defense has been putting it on tape for 3+ years, consistently.
 
I am not used to seeing the Steelers having poor/sub-par defenses for years. I used to watch the Defense win games for us since the offense was so poor for a long time. Green and Lloyd were sending QB's out on a stretcher almost every week. Our defense used to dominate games, but we still lost because our offense couldn't put up any points.
 
Teams look forward to playing offense against the Steelers. It's pathetic.

Know exactly how you feel, 6. I got reved up when the Steelers tied it up at half but knew the outcome after watching the ease at which they scored on that first drive of the second half. There used to be a passion on that D. We can blame the refs and the rule changes if we want to, but that fire, talent and coaching just simply is not there and has been lacking for a long time. Don't see how anybody with the last name of Rooney can let this continue.
 
You let a FS go, deservingly so. Bring in a SS, draft a SS. Then move a struggling SS to FS.

There was FS's available out there.

Haden hurry back this team needs you..............

Unfortunately that may not even be enough.
