I hear you Lebanon and get your drift. Regardless, I say if the report truly exonerates Trump - as Barr and Trump asserts it does - just drop the report and be done with it, let the public see it for themselves.

No need for the Cliff Notes version, let the record speak for itself. It's a bit of mystery why suddenly nobody on the Trump side wants this report out there. Seems like a great opportunity to clear the air, let the chips fall where they may, allow Trump to get on with his term with the dark cloud of the investigation finally, once and for all, cleared away. Seems like a no-brainer, a slam dunk move on his part.

If Barr - and Trump - are telling the truth, by all means release the report, spike the ball in the endzone and jubilantly declare victory. What's the hold-up?

Fair assertion on your part. So you agree with me - and President Trump (from a week or so ago) - that the report should be released for all to see. It evidently clears him of all wrongdoing. Can't think of a better way to clear the air - and his good name - and allow the country to move forward. It seems like a slam dunk, a no-brainer, for Trump and the GOP to want to get that report out there asap. Looking forward to it, so I can eat crow and admit I was wrong on Trump's misdeeds. Let's see the report, let's put this to rest once and for all.

The hold up is they can't legally release the whole report even if they wanted to. No one that I have seen on Trumps side is saying not to release what they can. It has to by law be redacted for a variety of reasons you know that the Left knows that but you think by making a big deal out of following the law something is being hidden or you want it to seem that way. It is the same way the Starr report should have been handled and why the law was changed. Democrats are acting like petulant spoiled children who will have their way no matter what. The Republicans acted that way with the Starr report.

You DO know that the only reason for the time before the report is released is to remove (1) confidential information, (2) classified information and (3) information precluded from disclosure by Federal law, i.e., Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure, section 6(e).

I mean, you know that, don't you?

Oh, and of course I expect that if Bill Barr had substantively misrepresented the report's conclusions, Mueller would have just remained quiet. You know, like he did when Buzzfeed claimed that Mueller had uncovered evidence that Trump supposedly "told Michael Cohen to lie" to Mueller. Right??

Tibs is a smart guy, misguided, but smart, and as others have said it's been a tad boring without him. I applaud your return, realizing that you know full well the report has to be redacted by law and will be released by mid-month.

Everything else is desperation on the part of the Democrats, and they are fooling no one but the choir. While we won't know exactly what's in the report until it's finally released, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Republicans trigger ‘nuclear option’ to speed President Trump nominees

The nuclear option — a change of the Senate rules by a simple majority — gained its name because it was seen as an explosive maneuver that would leave political fallout for some time to come. But it’s now been deployed three times in just six years amid continuous partisan warfare over nominations.

McConnell first sought to cut debate time on executive nominees, with the Senate voting 51-48 to overrule existing precedent. Later on Wednesday, McConnell will do the same for the District Court positions.

What do Rand Paul, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Mike Lee and Ilhan Omar have in common? They are all teaming up to offer President Donald Trump rare bipartisan praise from conservatives and liberals alike for his withdrawal from Syria.

The Kentucky GOP senator, New York Democratic congresswoman and a bipartisan group of 10 other lawmakers wrote Trump on Wednesday to offer “bipartisan support of your announcement of the start of a ‘deliberate withdrawal’ of U.S. military forces in Syria,” according to a letter sent to the president. The group of lawmakers declares that the U.S. presence in Syria is in “violation of the Constitution” because Congress never approved it and also urges Trump to wind down the war in Afghanistan.

“It is long past time to rein in the use of force that goes beyond congressional authorization, and we look forward to pursuing this longstanding bipartisan objective with your administration,” the bipartisan group told Trump. “We hope this will serve as a model for ending hostilities in the future — in particular, as you and your administration seek a political solution to our involvement in Afghanistan.”

I wasn't being critical of your assessment. I see Tibs differently, and that opinion has evolved over time.
BTW, the internet has become the place where the average man still has a voice. Don't underestimate it. It is one of the last vestiges of free speech, at least until Google and Facebook have their way.

Who on the Trump side doesn't want the report out there? And the part you keep glossing over-not surprisingly-is the fact that thanks to the Democrat party, after the Starr report, it is AGAINST THE LAW to "just drop the report and be done with it." Now if Democrats want to change the law, and I doubt they do, they can howl all they want in an effort to score political point with their base, who, not coincidentally are the only people that still believe this nonsense. In the end, they will get what the law allows.
