Steelers-panthers game thread - last call

Game is hard to watch now. Very few of these guys will see any action in the regular season.

Hodges has nothing to work with out there. Dobbs guaranteed the 3rd string role.

Again the last preseason game doesn’t outweigh an entire minicamp, training camp, three other preseason games, and several other practices...

This game can confirm coaches opinions but will rarely be deciding factors in setting the roster...

Holton I think made the roster tonight. So that’s not always true.

He was already in the running anyhow... and the list of guys who had amazing fourth preseason games tgen still got cut is long... i can remember several that whatever board i was on during those years got blown up over.. seems like one every other year or so

I’d say Snell is the biggest disappointment by far. Layne has struggled but it’s always because of mistakes that are fixable. Even on the TD he was right there in coverage, he just lost track of the ball.

Snell’s struggles are because he’s slow and stiff. He can’t overcome that. I don’t think he has any more upside than Edmunds or a bunch of other RBs who will be free agents tomorrow.

Snell was never a 4th round pick. He was a late round talent and we reached. Just like Hawkins, Dobbs, Grant, Thomas, Ta’amu, Landry Jones, Cortez Allen, Gibson, Tony Hills, Sepulveda, etc

I’d keep Edmonds over Snell. I just don’t see it with him. For as big as he is, he falls on first contact too.
