The Coronavirus thread

Question. How many people that beat coivd-19 are back in the ICU? Trying to see what beating it and immunity offers.

I would imagine if that was happening they would be hammering it in the media all day and all night. Haven't heard of any. There have been cases of people who "recovered" but tested positive again but not that got very ill again to my knowledge. They say maybe you can still be shedding virus after recovery.

The media sucks, and is to political to report such a truth. How many people who had Covid-19 are back in ICU, what percent? COivid 19 isn't going way anytime soon, but you can build up an immunity to it, meaning your less likely to pass it to others.

Building up an immunity to it means you are less likely to get it, not necessarily less likely to pass it to others when you have it. Like I said, I don't think anyone who got Covid and recovered is back in the ICU (not with Covid anyway). At least none that have been reported. I'm not sure if I'm understanding your question.

Well SteelerPride, it's official. Our school district is run by a bunch of *******.

Full time masks is absolutely ridiculous.

Yep, just got the email from Noblesville. This over reaction is just mind blowing.

Or they got a false positive on the test in the first place. I bet we have a ton of those.

I guarantee it, look what the tried to do with Kawasaki syndrome, until the were caught.

Gym opens tomorrow!!!!! ******* getting those gains back! **** wolf.

That muscle memory will kick in pretty fast on strength level returns. I have an immense home gym,so I'm always good. Just got my 6' 150lb thai bag hung in the garage a few days ago,so I'm super stoked and I welcome my biggest stress relief back.

Lol all dudes were in the bench. All the ladies doing legs. 225 was rough. Normally I do much more. Day at a time

With 120 million people already dead from Cov19 there should be plenty of open spaces now....

Almost hit 9000 new cases today. If we keep doubling each day we can get through this process faster.

Right! The healthy, the youth, the ones that were forced to hide are now being exposed at a greater level (you know bc target, Walmart, grocery stores, mail, ...etc etc didn’t expose them). They will recover AND that 99.7 will become more like a 99.85 to 99.9%. The folks most at risk have unfortunately already (for the most part, I still worry for my mom) has passed.

Let the hurd start to protect.

Building up an immunity to it means you are less likely to get it, not necessarily less likely to pass it to others when you have it.

The Chinese flu is like every other flu. Those who have it can transmit the disease only when it is "active," which covers about two weeks for Chinese flu. Once you get it and recover, you have antibodies and cannot get the same disease. Really, you can't - that's the whole damn theory behind vaccines and herd immunity.

Antibodies are proteins that help fight off infections and can provide protection against getting that disease again (immunity). Antibodies are disease specific. For example, measles antibodies will protect you from getting measles if you are exposed to it again, but they won’t protect you from getting mumps if you are exposed to mumps.

Except in instances in which viral testing is delayed, antibody tests should not be used to diagnose a current COVID-19 infection. An antibody test might not show if you have a current COVID-19 infection because it can take 1–3 weeks after infection for your body to make antibodies.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/testing/serology-overview.html

Once you are two weeks, give or take, after contracting the disease, you no longer can transmit the virus. You have the virus still around in the form of antibodies, but the virus is no longer alive or able to be contracted by a third party.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention believes that people who have been infected with COVID-19 are at their most contagious at the peak of their symptoms. This means that the days people feel their worst ― that may include a cough or a fever ― are when they’re most likely to spread the virus.

But that does not mean it is the only time they are contagious. People can “shed” or emit the virus in the incubation period before they show symptoms, which is generally from two to 14 days after their initial exposure. One model found the median incubation period for COVID-19 was five days and that 98% of people who develop symptoms after an exposure do so in around 11 days.

We don't know how long the anti bodies stay in your system so to say you can't get it again is not necessarily correct. Look at the regular flu. Even with the vaccine people still get it.

It mutates. Sometimes you get a new strain. My body hates the flu,but welcomes the common cold every year Go figure. Not a single flu shot in my life. No flu that I could tell in 31 years..knock on wood.

Always the bench! That's why so many have jacked up shoulders. Not enough pulling movements. Too heavy, too much volume for too long.

It will come back in a flash. Your mind may be still thinking about the spot you left off. Don't listen to it ..haha

We should call him Joe Dirt because he's dumber than dirt. I still can't find an AR -14 to purchase.

Jesus Christ, do you TRY to post things that are wrong??

Those who get a flu vaccine and get the flu get a type NOT INCLUDED IN THE VACCINE.

There are hundreds of flu strains. Flu vaccines target the 1-2 types the manufacturers believe are going to be most prevalent. Too ******* expensive to make one vaccine for 87 varieties of flu strains.

There is ONE Chinese flu. One. Get it, get the antibodies, you don't get it again.

I'm still looking for that automatic semi-automatic where I pull the trigger one time and it shoots 100 rounds in ten seconds.

Because (D)ims said it existed and they cannot be that ******* stupid, right?

I don't recall having the flu either, but i am required to get flu shots. I just hope covid does not mutate and they find a workable vaccine.
On a side note the department of health seems to be making their local rounds in the nursing homes. They are watching people temp in, wiping the thermometer, waiting the proper time etc etc. They are also giving immediate jeopardy tags if someones mask is even below the nose. Also giving tags for Pele walking too close or sitting too close. It is getting insane

What is the issue you, or anyone else for that matter, has with wearing a mask at an indoor location or a crowded outdoor location?

Not as bad. Not death for those at risk. The vaccination is not a cure, an increased way to stave it off and fight it.

Edit.

CDC

Vaccines greatly reduce the risk of infection by working with the body's natural defenses to safely develop immunity to disease.
