I must say I really do worry about quite a lot of folks on this board. Try to keep your heads screwed on straight, use some common sense, show some courtesy and wear a damn mask. The looney conspiracy theories and right-wing disinformation is at an all-time high. On this board, that's really saying something.

I am referring, of course, to the medication hydroxychloroquine. When this inexpensive oral medication is given very early in the course of illness, before the virus has had time to multiply beyond control, it has shown to be highly effective, especially when given in combination with the antibiotics azithromycin or doxycycline and the nutritional supplement zinc.
On May 27, I published an article in the American Journal of Epidemiology (AJE) entitled, "Early Outpatient Treatment of Symptomatic, High-Risk COVID-19 Patients that Should be Ramped-Up Immediately as Key to the Pandemic Crisis." That article, published in the world's leading epidemiology journal, analyzed five studies, demonstrating clear-cut and significant benefits to treated patients, plus other very large studies that showed the medication safety.
Since publication of my May 27 article, seven more studies have demonstrated similar benefit. In a lengthy follow-up letter, also published by AJE, I discuss these seven studies and renew my call for the immediate early use of hydroxychloroquine in high-risk patients. These seven studies include: an additional 400 high-risk patients treated by Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, with zero deaths; four studies totaling almost 500 high-risk patients treated in nursing homes and clinics across the U.S., with no deaths; a controlled trial of more than 700 high-risk patients in Brazil, with significantly reduced risk of hospitalization and two deaths among 334 patients treated with hydroxychloroquine; and another study of 398 matched patients in France, also with significantly reduced hospitalization risk. Since my letter was published, even more doctors have reported to me their completely successful use.
Data from Solidarity (including the French Discovery trial data) and the recently announced results from the UK's Recovery trial both showed that hydroxychloroquine does not result in the reduction of mortality of hospitalised COVID-19 patients, when compared with standard of care.

Hydroxychloroquine has been widely administered to patients with Covid-19 without robust evidence supporting its use.

Update (June 18): The World Health Organization announced yesterday that it was dropping hydroxychloroquine from the Solidarity trial after new data suggest the drug is ineffective as a COVID-19 treatment or prophylaxis.

Three big studies dim hopes that hydroxychloroquine can treat or prevent COVID-19
“We’d be better off shifting our attention to drugs that might actually work.” Peter Kremsner of the University of Tübingen agrees hydroxychloroquine “certainly isn’t a wonder drug.”

But Google and Facebook didn't agree with this doctor, so I have to completely disregard the science.
But Google and Facebook didn't agree with this doctor, so I have to completely disregard the science.
Dr Immanuel was among a number of physicians named “America’s Frontline Doctors” making misleading claims about the virus at a news conference Monday in Washington.
The paediatrician and religious minister has emerged as a figurehead in light of her speech at the conference, with both Mr Trump and his oldest son singing her praises on social media.
However, a report by The Daily Beast delved into more of Dr Immanuel’s unconventional public appearances, revealing the doctor’s spiritual beliefs regarding demon sex, alien DNA in medicine, conspiracy theories, and anti-LGBTQ+ views.
In one video from 2013, the doctor attributes medical conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, and cysts to “spirit husbands”, demons that have sex with women while they sleep.
“They are responsible for serious gynaecological problems,” Dr Immanuel said. “We call them all kinds of names—endometriosis, we call them molar pregnancies, we call them fibroids, we call them cysts, but most of them are evil deposits from the spirit husband.”
She also offers guidance against these spirits in an article titled ‘Deliverance from Spirit Wives and Spirit Husbands’ on her website, first reported by The Daily Beast.
According to the outlet, she also speaks of a conspiracy theory in which a witch attempts to use abortion, gay marriage, and children’s toys to destroy the world and claims that alien DNA is being used in medicine to treat humans.
“They’re using all kinds of DNA, even alien DNA, to treat people,” she reportedly says in one sermon from 2015.
This is the 'doctor' who's gonna save us all. Thank God breitbart & Trump unleashed her on all of us dumbasses who simply haven't been paying enough attention. We, who have such little faith.
Is this from her Medical Board exam?

Masks really only work when a vast majority of people wear them. You don't do that during flu season (although I guess we could). It would be a lot of masks for a long period of time.
Again, don't think of masks as protection for YOU. It is just a method, when worn by everyone in public, to reduce the total germs in the air and surfaces. The total parts per million. It does not eliminate them all. It does not stop ALL the droplets from escaping into the air. But it REDUCES THEM.
And since infection is a result of concentration, time and susceptibility, why not TRY and HELP reduce concentration (which is just one part). What harm does it do to you silly complainers really?
What would be interesting to know, if I actually gave a ****, but in the interest of mental health professionals, is why would someone who has suffered financially, personally, professionally and certainly mentally side with those who inflict the unnecessary damage over those who are trying to prevent it. A conundrum, for sure. But it can simply be answered with a short acronym: TDS.
Here is the 'doctor' you're all willing to die on the hill for. (I use that term figuratively, I hope).
Alien DNA? Demon sperm? ******* A, she sounds legit, fellas.
And Trump calls her a 'great doctor' who's voice 'needs to be heard.' Of course it does. This is 2020 in Trump's America.
Sex with spirits and alien DNA: The controversial views of doctor whose coronavirus theory got Trump Jr suspended from Twitter

Has nothing to do with TDS maybe TDA (Trump is a Dumb ***) . His statements/ tweets are going to cost him the election but hard core supporters just blow them off. Again 20% of the people is not enough to elect Trump. I know i certainly won't be voting for Biden or any dem, but Trump is making it more difficult to vote for him
