I must say I really do worry about quite a lot of folks on this board. Try to keep your heads screwed on straight, use some common sense, show some courtesy and wear a damn mask. The looney conspiracy theories and right-wing disinformation is at an all-time high. On this board, that's really saying something.

Some of it is absolutely crazy, some of it unfortunately is not a conspiracy. Both sides have absolutely let politics come before rational thinking, BOTH SIDES. Much of it goes back to a lack of clear information at the start and is truly the fault of politics played at the world level and by China.

TIbs do you truly believe any of the numbers we have in China? There is no way they are close to accurate. You also, if you put aside your loathing of this administration have to admit they were given false and contradictory information and advice form many different sources. Democrats and Republicans all are on record saying the wrong things at the wrong time but it is because they were officially being told those things.

Since then people picked what they wanted to hear and took a political stand. Trump has been more flexible in doing things than most when judged by actual deeds and actual policy.

SoOp, apparently you quoted a "Dr" not a Dr. This guy supports the use of hydroxychloroquine, so he is just a "Dr" (with quotes). "He ain't black."

HARVEY A. RISCH, MD, PHD , PROFESSOR OF EPIDEMIOLOGY, YALE SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH

I am referring, of course, to the medication hydroxychloroquine. When this inexpensive oral medication is given very early in the course of illness, before the virus has had time to multiply beyond control, it has shown to be highly effective, especially when given in combination with the antibiotics azithromycin or doxycycline and the nutritional supplement zinc.

On May 27, I published an article in the American Journal of Epidemiology (AJE) entitled, "Early Outpatient Treatment of Symptomatic, High-Risk COVID-19 Patients that Should be Ramped-Up Immediately as Key to the Pandemic Crisis." That article, published in the world's leading epidemiology journal, analyzed five studies, demonstrating clear-cut and significant benefits to treated patients, plus other very large studies that showed the medication safety.

Since publication of my May 27 article, seven more studies have demonstrated similar benefit. In a lengthy follow-up letter, also published by AJE, I discuss these seven studies and renew my call for the immediate early use of hydroxychloroquine in high-risk patients. These seven studies include: an additional 400 high-risk patients treated by Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, with zero deaths; four studies totaling almost 500 high-risk patients treated in nursing homes and clinics across the U.S., with no deaths; a controlled trial of more than 700 high-risk patients in Brazil, with significantly reduced risk of hospitalization and two deaths among 334 patients treated with hydroxychloroquine; and another study of 398 matched patients in France, also with significantly reduced hospitalization risk. Since my letter was published, even more doctors have reported to me their completely successful use.

Dr. Harvey Risch is Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the Yale School of Public Health and Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Risch received his MD degree from the University of California San Diego and PhD from the University of Chicago. After serving as a postdoctoral fellow in epidemiology at the University of Washington, Dr. Risch was a faculty member in epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Toronto before coming to Yale. Dr. Risch's research interests are in the areas of cancer etiology, prevention and early diagnosis, and in epidemiologic methods. He is especially interested in the effects of reproductive factors, diet, genetic predisposition, histopathologic factors, occupational/environmental/medication exposures, infection and immune functioning in cancer etiology. His major research projects have included studies of ovarian cancer, pancreas cancer, lung cancer, bladder cancer, esophageal and stomach cancer, and of cancers related to usage of oral contraceptives and noncontraceptive estrogens. Dr. Risch is Associate Editor of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Editor of the International Journal of Cancer, and Member of the Board of Editors, the American Journal of Epidemiology. Dr. Risch is an author of more than 325 original research publications in the medical literature, has an h-index of 88, and is a Member of the Connecticut Academy of Sciences and Engineering.

You know, part of the human condition, part of the adult compromise, is to weigh information from various sources and try to guage its relevancy in order to establish fact from fiction.

There is no doubt there are doctors, maybe even hundreds of doctors around the world, who may make claims about the efficiency of Hydroxychloroquine on covid patients.

I wish it were true. The broader medical and scientific community and various health agencies have yet to reach such conclusions.

Data from Solidarity (including the French Discovery trial data) and the recently announced results from the UK's Recovery trial both showed that hydroxychloroquine does not result in the reduction of mortality of hospitalised COVID-19 patients, when compared with standard of care.

https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-hydroxychloroquine-and-covid-19

Hydroxychloroquine has been widely administered to patients with Covid-19 without robust evidence supporting its use.

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmoa2012410

Update (June 18): The World Health Organization announced yesterday that it was dropping hydroxychloroquine from the Solidarity trial after new data suggest the drug is ineffective as a COVID-19 treatment or prophylaxis.

https://www.the-scientist.com/news-...hloroquine-testing-after-safety-warning-67573

Three big studies dim hopes that hydroxychloroquine can treat or prevent COVID-19

“We’d be better off shifting our attention to drugs that might actually work.” Peter Kremsner of the University of Tübingen agrees hydroxychloroquine “certainly isn’t a wonder drug.”

I'm not happy about it, I wish it wasn't the case. It evidently works wonders on malaria patients, with Covid, not so. I hope they do find medicine to treat this, and in time, a proper vaccine. In the meantime, just trying to keep it real.

To dispel this unsubstantiated notion that I don't wear masks, I present my two favorites. My Maryland mask and my Steelers mask.

I'm not saying Mrs Cucktime made that mask for me outright, but it's my favorite. It may not be evident but I've nearly worn it out. I may need to thank her personally....

But Google and Facebook didn't agree with this doctor, so I have to completely disregard the science.

Google,Facebook, Twitter and CNN are wonderful sources for biased false propaganda. They do important work for the communists.

Here is the 'doctor' you're all willing to die on the hill for. (I use that term figuratively, I hope).

Alien DNA? Demon sperm? ******* A, she sounds legit, fellas.

And Trump calls her a 'great doctor' who's voice 'needs to be heard.' Of course it does. This is 2020 in Trump's America.

Sex with spirits and alien DNA: The controversial views of doctor whose coronavirus theory got Trump Jr suspended from Twitter

Dr Immanuel was among a number of physicians named “America’s Frontline Doctors” making misleading claims about the virus at a news conference Monday in Washington.

The paediatrician and religious minister has emerged as a figurehead in light of her speech at the conference, with both Mr Trump and his oldest son singing her praises on social media.

However, a report by The Daily Beast delved into more of Dr Immanuel’s unconventional public appearances, revealing the doctor’s spiritual beliefs regarding demon sex, alien DNA in medicine, conspiracy theories, and anti-LGBTQ+ views.

In one video from 2013, the doctor attributes medical conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, and cysts to “spirit husbands”, demons that have sex with women while they sleep.

“They are responsible for serious gynaecological problems,” Dr Immanuel said. “We call them all kinds of names—endometriosis, we call them molar pregnancies, we call them fibroids, we call them cysts, but most of them are evil deposits from the spirit husband.”

She also offers guidance against these spirits in an article titled ‘Deliverance from Spirit Wives and Spirit Husbands’ on her website, first reported by The Daily Beast.

According to the outlet, she also speaks of a conspiracy theory in which a witch attempts to use abortion, gay marriage, and children’s toys to destroy the world and claims that alien DNA is being used in medicine to treat humans.

“They’re using all kinds of DNA, even alien DNA, to treat people,” she reportedly says in one sermon from 2015.

This is the 'doctor' who's gonna save us all. Thank God breitbart & Trump unleashed her on all of us dumbasses who simply haven't been paying enough attention. We, who have such little faith.

Is this from her Medical Board exam?

What’s her professional opinion about injecting disinfectants? How else do you get rid of the demons?

Sadly, thats probably not the craziest **** that’s been posted here.

This is the problem with Trump in a nutshell. Just last night he re-tweeted something that stated how Fauci has misled americans and in particular with the hydroxychloroquine. Today he was questioned about it, basically denied it and said he didnt even know Fauci's stance on hydroxychloroquine. If you believe Fauci misled america then great, but you can not just pretend you never posted it a day later and play dumb. Either he is drunk when tweeting, someone else (Don Jr) has access to his twitter or he just thinks Americans are idiots. Then to use a Dr who talks about alien and demon DNA as your source just total incompetence. Trump's staff should be fired. Someone reasonable and really close to him needs to have some kinda hardcore intervention....

What would be interesting to know, if I actually gave a ****, but in the interest of mental health professionals, is why would someone who has suffered financially, personally, professionally and certainly mentally side with those who inflict the unnecessary damage over those who are trying to prevent it. A conundrum, for sure. But it can simply be answered with a short acronym: TDS.

Masks really only work when a vast majority of people wear them. You don't do that during flu season (although I guess we could). It would be a lot of masks for a long period of time.

Again, don't think of masks as protection for YOU. It is just a method, when worn by everyone in public, to reduce the total germs in the air and surfaces. The total parts per million. It does not eliminate them all. It does not stop ALL the droplets from escaping into the air. But it REDUCES THEM.

And since infection is a result of concentration, time and susceptibility, why not TRY and HELP reduce concentration (which is just one part). What harm does it do to you silly complainers really?

the mortality rate of COVID is pretty close to the flu, so if you believe masks are necessary for covid then you must also think they are necessary for flu season...forever.

Has nothing to do with TDS maybe TDA (Trump is a Dumb ***) . His statements/ tweets are going to cost him the election but hard core supporters just blow them off. Again 20% of the people is not enough to elect Trump. I know i certainly won't be voting for Biden or any dem, but Trump is making it more difficult to vote for him

Yes, the cancel jackels have been activated.

Tibs, you have not viewed this video. I could tell by your comments. You are commenting through the filter of some other like minded media.

You cannot view it now, because it was removed, by technocrats in Silicon Valley, who are now the judges of what is good speech, and what is bad. If you think that is a good idea, then you would have to agree that the moderators here can cancel you with no other justification than they think your speech is harmful.

I would recommend that you find the video, if you can, and then make a determination on your own. Fat chance.

When the alternative is voting for a guy with dementia who will be a puppet for a socialist agenda, open borders, defunding police, passing the green new deal which will destroy the economy, buddying up to China, then I don't give a **** what Trump tweets. So long as he is against all those things, he's the only choice and i have no idea how any person with a brain can vote Biden.

Trump's a jerk. So what. His policies will help America. The policies of Biden's overlords will destroy America. Easy choice.
