A friend of mine had hernia surgery and his doctor recently told him he can lift weights again. I suppose you also think it’s sad he waited for his doctors advice?

He could have chosen to lift sooner.

My son is coming up on an epidural for a herniated L5 disc. He lifts 6 days a week. He also knows his own body really well. I'll trust him to make the right choice of listening to his doctor's advice and listening to his body.

As someone who lifts daily and for a long *** time, softissue injuries, ligaments and back are the most common. They also in most cases do not say “hey ICS your back is about to go!” Nope just happens.
