Thoughts on this Quarterback class

for ***** and giggles... let's assume the Clowns take Travis Hunter.

at 21, Shedeur is available. But, so is Dart.

Cleveland calls wanting to trade their 2nd and 3rd for our 1st.
Take the call or not?

Tidbit: Cleveland has the 1st pick in the 2nd round and no other team behind us in the first needs a QB.
I'm making this trade...

Take the call with out hesitation.

Once the trade is official, call them back and ask if Kenny is doing OK.....................

Salute the nation

One more nugget that I want to add...

Even though I have picked Dart; it is with much reservation because he did not play in an NFL style offense and his HC, Lane Kiffin, is known for his exotic collegiate schemes that get recirculation receivers WIDE OPEN.

So, how does this translate when he's asked to make NFL reads and throws??? This scares me. After rewatching him in the Senior Bowl - I feel like I'm not sure again.

Most likely bust:
Cam Ward QB Miami
Not because I don’t like him but because he’s going to such a god awful team. A team that has our cast offs in Dan Moore protecting his blind side and Van Jefferson starting at WR. Ward reminds me a lot of Levis in the fact he has a big arm but requires a very good line in order to process information. He also likes looking deep which takes time. Something he likely doesn’t get in Tennessee.
Not with Dan "look out" Moore protecting his blindside. No way. He was always at the bottom of worst stating LTs his whole career. Every year we were told how he's changed and upgraded, and then the season would begin: same old "look out."
Most likely to fall:
Shedeur Sanders QB Colorado
Can’t be a bust if he’s not that good to begin with. This one I’m struggling with. I pushed him up my draft board due to reading others about him. Now that I have watched more film I really don’t think he’s a first or second round pick. Maybe third. But I personally don’t take him until day 3. I will likely update my board FYI before the draft and my miss evaluation on him is the reason. I believe most NFL GM’s probably aren’t buying the hype either.

Deion is involled, of course there is hype. And will be for a long time.
Bold prediction:
Jalen Milroe QB Alabama
My bold prediction is Milroe is the second QB off the board. And it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s to the Browns.
Just doesn't seem to have the instincts.

I think with the right coaching, Dan Moore will have a positive impact for the Titans. I'm not sure how much better he'll get, but he will be better than he was with the Steelers. It's a low bar, I know.

Dan was an example of what this team and it's coaching can do with its current HC and OL coach. Not too damn much.

Since this is the offseason, cooch can get way more than that. Make him your GM for this example and get us another 1st!

Or take this trade if a couple DL are still available

Saw some PFF QB comps today, not pretty save for Ward:

Ward - Big Ben
Dart - Pickett
Sanders - Bridgewater
McCord - Purdy
Milroe - Quincy Carter

I don't like any of the quarterbacks for a round 1 pick this year. I'd go with a DL or a fresh diva WR in the first this year.

The only thing that concerns me is that if Sanders is available at 21, Tomlin will never allow them to pass on him.
Agree, but I think Sanders and Dart will both be gone by the time the Steelers pick, especially with the Saints needing a QB now.
Everybody is saying next year will be a better draft for QB's.

Ward resembles Big Ben? Huge claim. If he does, he's worth every dime. Dart = Pickett? He ain't all that then.

There's one that talks about how well it went too. I'd venture to say that a 5 hr meeting more than likely went well.

or maybe it went 5 hours because he took forever on the whiteboard.

EVerything's a lie these days so who knows. I just know I'm going to be pissed if they draft Shedeur. Kenny Pickett's arm looks like Elway compared to Shedeur. May as well bring back Duck Hodges.

That's who Shedeur actually reminds me of Duck Hodges or Danny Wuerful. Reds defenses OK, great accuracy on short throws but no arm to threaten a defense deep or outside the numbers.

Milroe will be all or nothing. Why the hell draft Milroe when you could have just kept Fields? Fields already had a year in the system.

Dart. Maybe he pans out but I'm always wary of these system QBs. The Baylor QBs all struggled in the NFL. Dart is a 1 read guy and much of the time that read is signaled in to him. He may be a project.

If I'm taking on a project, I'd rather wait until next year and put the work into developing a guy with high upside. That was the problem with Pickett. You were drafting a guy who could develop into Andy Dalton or Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I'm out on QBs until late if you can get Roarke from Indiana in the 5th or later. He's a fit with play action passing.

The Rams need a QB for the future, but I’d jump at this.

If multiple QB-needy teams with offensive head coaches pass on him, that should be a clue to the Steelers.

one thing to consider about Shedeur Sanders... he had Travis Hunter making him look good.
27% of his completions in 2024 were to Hunter. The overall best prospect in the entire draft. I mean, yeah, I'd target that mf too, but it also makes me wonder how good Sanders can really be against better competition. He won't be throwing against North Dakota State, Colorado State, Kansas State and Oklahoma State in the NFL.

Numbers were higher for Allar and Warren, I think he’s going to take a step back in 2025. Howard threw to studs, so did Ewers, Milroe, Fields, most top ranked QBs in any given draft. Burrow throw to Chase and Jefferson his last year. Only way to tease apart responsibility is to watch a lot of film.

Big 10 and SEC comp are a lot different than Big 12.

I'm with you but...

Travis is NOT George or DK!!!

and Travis was also playing against future Wawa Managers and Costco employees. But, hands down, Travis is the best player in the draft.

Absolutely... because then Cleveland picks the surefire bust and you are left with the guy who might have a prayer... lol
