Kazee started to be, but got careless and suspended.

Even our supposedly “nasty” OL-men don’t seem to be. They are to busy trying to play and not ****-up.

I would have to say Bozwell……………. Or Rudolf…………

That’s the thing, they don’t have a clear identity. Haven’t had one in quite awhile. They don’t even have the “Run” moniker attached to them.

Those old teams had the identity, tough / physical / defense and that carried a lot of weight towards the

“Steelers Way”

Like I said in the original post, I’ miss the good O’l days of hard-nosed, but most importantly, the nasty.

Isn’t it coincidental that the nasty linebacker was always an indicator of Steeler greatness through the decades.

In the 70’s was Jack Lambert
In the 80’s was no one, and thus we were pretty much a mediocre team.
In the 90’s was Greg Lloyd and we were back in the SB
Then from 99-2006 came “they shot me in Denver” Joey Porter and we won a SB.
Then came James Harrison, and you know that story, him finally hanging it up in 2017.

Like you said, who is our nasty now? And where is our team now? Pretty much stuck in mediocrity.

TJ Watt, like Jack Ham is among one of the greatest linebackers ever to don the Black and Gold, but I don’t think anyone never considered Jack Ham “nasty”, just great….especially with Lambert playing next to him.

Besides, nasty linebackers don’t celebrate by doing high kicks like a chorus line dancer LOL ( I feel one of these days he’s gonna pull a hammy doing that)!

So what defines a “nasty” linebacker? Borderline dirty?
I don’t know exactly, but to borrow a quote from one time Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart when asked to define hard core pornography. “I can’t define it, but I know it when I see it.”

Bengal fans like Stain fans have always consider the entire Steeler team as being dirty, believing it’s how the players are groomed in training camp.
Especially appalling was when Bengal fans blathered about Ryan Shazier getting what he deserved.

They think TJ is the devil incarnate. He certainly has had his share of good games against Burrow. They are also not the brightest fan base.
 
Awesome to watch and reminisce about the glory days. They did miss Troy knocking out Ocho Cinco's crunk teeth hit, AB kicking a brownie in the face during a punt return, and Kris Gardocki being pummeled after a punt by JP. For those that don't remember it...
