Dulac reports Art growing impatient and frustrated

The Steelers are now in their longest stretch without a playoff win since Chuck Noll was hired in 1969.
But hey, never a losing season, greatest coach everrrrr.......
That isn't ending anytime soon. I'll go out on a limb and say there's zero chance of them winning a superbowl with this team and coaching staff.

It's just a bunch of guys and not a unit playing as one. They'll probably need to rebuild most of this team.

I said that years ago. Team never gets to another SB with Shades as HC. I didn't say win, I just said "gets to".

I’ll do you one better… I don’t think this teams even wins another playoff game with Tomlin as a coach.

I also think they blow a huge division lead this year and don’t even make the playoffs.

Hopefully that’s enough for atomlin to be canned.

But they won’t

Sounds reasonable.
Deuce will never fire his dad's Rooney Rule hire. Best we'll see is that they let his contract run out, like they do with most assistant coaches.

Art wants to retire on Success... dude is the same age range the previous two franchise operators walked away... Dan was 72, the season he stepped away as team president, Art 1 was turning 74. Art 2 is currently 73.
Both remained in the org in some way after the official transfer of power, and both had the base for championship level teams in place when they transferred power... art 2 has... um... a non losing season streak...

Of course he is displeased

All told I really think they’re just hoping to limp to that team all time wins record to hang their hat on. Kind of akin to that stupid feed AB the ball with short screen passes just to keep that stupid X amount of catches with X amount of yards. Kinda loses its luster to me if you have to force feed it and it doesn’t happen naturally in both cases 🤷🏻‍♂️

And check out this crazy stat as per Jon Breech in a CBS sports article:

If you're wondering just how bad things have gotten, the Steelers became just the seventh team since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970 to allow at least 450 total yards and 30 points or more while forcing zero turnovers in back-to-back games.

HISTORIC indeed coach Dipshit, But just “keep doing what we’re doing but gotta do it better” 🤣😂. Dumbest ****** statement yet in a loooong list of Tomlin headscratchers. I literally had to stop and re-read and slowly make the words make sense on several things he said yesterday.

Rooney is feeling the heat. Pomp and Joe recently discussed replacement candidates. The minority owners are banging their fists on his desk. They are unhappy with their investment.

Rooney doesn't like to pay contracts to people who aren't here. Tomlin didn't break the win record. Is that a priority? Tomlin is protected by the Rooney Rule. How can Rooney back out of that? He painted himself into that corner.

Isn't that pretty similar to the kind of stat that made Teryl Austin available to the Steelers in the first place? Something like giving up 500 yards in 3 straight games, and Tomlin saying, "I gotta have some of that!"

Austin has been a scapegoat-in-waiting for a long time now. Hopefully Tomlin gets shown the door along with him.

One can hope.

Zeise basically just highlighted that when a head coach has been with a franchise that long, the franchise takes on the identity of the head coach.

The defense being the main struggle this year makes it tough for fans at the game to voice frustration. When the offense has another pathetic three-and-out, it's easy to boo the playcalling or execution when they send out the punt team. Green Bay completing a 20th straight pass or scoring another TD just sucks the life out of you.
Again, this is why I always say Cowher was underrated, he was here 15 seasons and the team was almost always a Super Bowl threat, the franchise actually got stronger under Cowher, instead of the message getting stale.

The countdown is on to 01/01/2028.
We can all collectively Daffy Duck Dance until then.
Doesn't matter if Terrible Austin goes.
Tomlin will still be here until 01/01/2028 at the VERY earliest.
The sad reality is we are stuck with this incompetent boob until 01/01/2028.
NO WAY he gets fired. NO WAY he retires. NO WAY there's a mutual parting.
Barry Switzer Jr. is here for 2 1/2 more football seasons, kids.
And I will be stealing the '72 Dolphins champagne 01/01/2028.

I was furious when they extended Tomlin before last season…. I just knew this team would rank as always. Tomlin was smart and pushed for that extension

It’s time to cut the cord

And to think after they lost in the 2004 AFCC game, many on here wanted him gone. If he had hadn't won it yet, he never will was the prevalent thought.

That's is not some kind of support of Tomlin to remain the head coach, btw. It's just the truth about how it was then.

They were a lot more fun to watch week in and week out even during the off years. At least when they lost, they usually beat the hell out of the other team. The game is on TV locally Sunday and I'm having second thoughts on wasting another afternoon watching the same old ****.

i'm fairly certain all of us would help Tomlin pack. Except @Steeltime - since he has a MT tattoo on his chest. The absolute best time to have fired him was when last season ended. Putrid and horrible product put out by him. We could have been starting over with a fresh, new coach like Ben Johnson.

Now, it's difficult to determine who we could get. This article is a bit old, as some of the guys have already secured HC positions.

Some of the guys we SHOULD be eyeballing:

Davis Webb - Broncos
Brian Flores - Vikings
Aubrey Pleasant - Rams
Mike LaFleur - Rams
Chris Foerster - 49ers

4 of the 5 are offensive minded, which is where the league is going. Goodell wants to see high scoring games, as its what puts ***** in seats and keeps channels tuned. I'd be more hopeful for Foerster, as that 49ers offense just hums along, with backups starting more times than not.

this man should be allowed to participate in the next coaching hire

What Art should grow is a pair.

He's already got two---- dingle-berries, in Tomlin & Austin.

Salute the nation
