2026 Salary Cap increase

Unless he's Troy Polamalu rejuvenated I don't want to see a 1st round spent on a Safety
There will probably never be another player like Troy Litos!! Yeah, he will be long gone, most likely top 5. But he’s going to be like Minkah but with a little bit of Woodson moves. WR, SAF and OL are all in play in the 1st IMO.

I'm all in for WR/DL in the 1st
add CB/S/OL to the list on 2nd round
add ILB in the 3rd round.

BPA within these needs, then double dip WR(KR)/DL/OL in the late rounds

1 DL,WR (leaning NT over DE)
2 DL, G, or WR ( minus who was picked in 1)
3 ILB, S, CB, QB ( and left over position of 1&2)
4 BPA of leftovers
5 BPA
6 BPA
7 P or STers

My stab at it to date..

yes, that's a good plan in theory. Let's see how the chips fall, this will really be an entertaining offseason with all the changes and reborn expectations beyond mediocrity and futility, at least in the mid future

It’s early, and will have to wait until the Senior Bowl/Shrine Bowl practice tapes are available, plus the combine (to an extent), but with variation, DL/DT sweet spot is around 2-3 round (we’ve got plenty of 3rd rounders) sans the out of reach SEC/ACC 330+ guys. DE/EDGE is top heavy, and WR/OL will be better value unless we trade up. Seriously don’t think we go DT two years in a row in the first, but grabbing a guy in the second or third sounds plausible to grow with Harmon, who looks like a keeper.

If it's for a NT I agree we can wait for a late 2nd or later

7 needs, 5 picks in first 100, so they should be able to sign a couple vet FAs (DL, DB?) and then fill a lot of needs.

If the Steelers are very active in FA, then they don't need 12 picks, and i think that would indicate them looking to package and move up.....I'd rather they sat at 21 and grabbed a WR/CB and then filled the remaining needs.

With all the round 6 and 7 picks, I hope that Cooch comes back to tell us how he can package them into a high pick from the stains.

If Rodgers drags feet Id enter the Malek Willis sweepstakes but the contract must have outs. Hell even if Rodgers is in if he doesn’t sign tge paper Id consider.

They’re going to need to allocate a big piece of that extra cap to resign Porter Jr., even if they back load it. He’s going to command big money. I think cutting Ramsey instead of a restructure might be necessary. A decision on Herbig needs to happen and we want to be players during free agency. That 19 million will come in handy.

Unfortunately we don't have Fu to sweeten the trade

The Steelers have some talented building blocks such as JPJ and Herbig along with Washington and Benton coming up on contract extensions. These are the pieces to build around the they should not lose any of these players at the expense of keeping guys over 30 and on the decline.

I would love to get the Ohio State kid, McDonald, but he’s projected to be a mid to late 1st. WR has a higher priority and there are better skill players available. Another Buckeye, Tate or Boston being better value. Maybe Lemon too, but he’s another slot player. We have enough of those.

If Lemon, Tate, and Tyson are all gone, I'd seriously consider McDonald. I also wouldn't mind using one of the 3rd-round picks to move up.
