Looks like Troy and Mason could permanently move to the left side + other Steelers news 5/20

So I wouldnt read too much into the moving around yet. Moves in otas don't often translate to the regular season. They can, but staffs.. particularly new staffs, tend to experiment to see who is strongest where before proper camp practices start..

I think they are just looking at what their best options are for everyone.. not just forcing them into a position... which is a great thing...
Yeah, wait til they do leg length measurements to find out who starts at LT.

That is the real question.

Clairvoyance would be one way to see the answer, but I’ve taken a 30 day hiatus from use of that option.

Current Steelers view, also note they want a vet. Back-up with experience (mason cheap and 9-5 record)
Aaa-Ron starts
Mason. QB2
Will. QB3
Drew QB4 (how do they protect him)

My view
Aaa-Ron starts (I’m forced to have him here)
Will QB2
Drew QB3———— Mason QB 3 (what do you do with Allar, unless you get rid of Mason?)

Things can change dramatically, TC will sort it much better.

Yes exactly..you practice squad Aller and somebody snatches him.

I don't know. Like you implied time will make the picture clearer.

When the **** did leg length come into play…..??

I always thought it was head size that mattered…………………. :)

What you do with Allar is have him say “ow my finger hurts” after taking a snap and put him on IR for the season.

Or if he looks better than Will…then Will gets the owwy

I hear yaz Fiji, but it may not be as easy as that.

We as fans see that as a viable option, but the player may not see it that way.

A-legitimate player wants to play, not sit on the bench / IR / doghouse / ect..

There is even a chance of asking to be traded or released.

DK Sports Daily Shot had a segment about this very thing.

If I had to lean in a direction today, I’d say it’s Rudy who ends up outside looking in.

Might be an injury or possible trade during TC.

Obviously if any of the 4 get injured, they will go to IR.

Troy Fautanu has an arm length of 34.5 inches, while Broderick Jones has an arm length of 34.75 inches. The difference between their arm lengths is negligible 0.25 inches. The average NFL left tackle arm length is 34.1 inches .Troy recorded a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 9.62 out of 10.00 during the 2024 NFL Draft cycle. This historic score ranked him 53rd out of 1,377 offensive tackles evaluated since 1987.

My two and a half cents:

I would counter with his arm length is fine and his athleticism is more than fine. No reason he can’t flourish as a LT.
Also Troy is 6'4", 317, Jones is 6'5", 311...

The longer Jacoby Brissette sits out in AZ, the stronger the possibility of them calling about Rudy as a stop gap
Sniff sniff

I smell someone threatening me with a good time. That smell is in the air. 😅
