Thats the issue... the media conglomerates want the click bait hot takes, until they get them backlashes.

Madden made a career of controversial hot takes to troll viewership.. the guys on the FAN seem to plan their hot takes to play off of each other... thats how sports media works these days... Madden once lost a job cause a controversial statement irked this ESPN corporate overlords...

Clark started off just offering solid insights.. they led him down the path to give controversial opinions, then let him go when it started some bad PR blowback

Exactly! I stopped watching those shows, but social media clogs my feed at times with this BS. A bunch of grown men yelling at each other all the time.
 
This isn’t the first time Peter Schrager was called out for not playing the game by a former player, Deangelo Williams was a guest on good morning football years ago and coincidentally they were discussing the upcoming Patriot Steeler game. Kyle Brandt, Schrager and other hosts were all going with the Pats and Williams was going with Pittsburgh. Deangelo was saying they all had a Pats agenda and then called out Schrager and Brandt for never playing the game, of course Brandt played at Princeton and brought it up, Williams was calling it division lll ball etc, you could tell they did not take kindly to that, it was funny as hell.

Schrager reminds me of that awkward kid in high school who wants to hang out with the jocks who put up with him but make fun of him behind his back.

Hot takes are part of the job. Clark made me sick to listen to. If he wasn't race baiting he was running his mouth about past and present players he had a problem with either personally Brown, Rodgers or politically like Nick Bosa.
Threatening to "Pull up" on Aaron Rodgers, is about as trashy and as hood as it gets. People are tired of the divisive politically and racially motivated hot takes on ESPN.
He's probably a good guy with strong opinions that got caught up in the "I can say anything I want for clicks without backlash era"
That era is obviously over.

I liked Ryan as a player and when he first started on ESPN but lost his way somewhere in his analyst career. He needed to go.
Next, they need to get rid of loud mouth Stephen A Smith another big mouth jerk, and Dominique Foxworth. Mina Kimes and a lot of these women need to go as well.
The one woman I like is Laura Rutledge.
ESPN is a total joke today!
I miss the old days of Chris Berman and Tom Jackson.

As someone pointed out earlier in this thread. Quality across most platforms - sports/entertainment, instead of food I will say dining experience, social interaction has gone downhill for quite some time.

Espn in this instance focuses more on hot takes rather than sport specific insights.

I miss the ole’ Chris Berman, Tom Jackson days as well.

I don't know, those can be entertaining. I saw one where two families threw down in a Golden Corral. The people standing back and filming were also throwing chairs at the idiots fighting.

The sad thing is “How did these two families get to this point”, Golden Corral has plenty of food and choices. What driving force could motivate two entire families to disrespect themselves enough to actually fight and in a public setting?

We don’t know the whole story, but more than likely is was something very minimal and some form of either’s interpretation of respect. They need bigger help than just about the fight.

Sad thing is, society in general has forgotten how to think with reasoning / accountability / integrity.

The minute Clark started getting some decent press about him being good, he started trying way to hard and going for more shock jock crap just trying to say stuff that got attention, good or bad.
