“Rayshawn Jenkins has agreed to a 1-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers”

Oh great. Another 32 year old that gets a pay day from the Steelers before riding off into the sunset. I was screaming all 2025 Draft for Nick Emmanwori. Wonder how that’s turned out for the Seahawks. And last draft for Dillon Thieneman. It’s like they’re allergic to drafting a top stud safety. I guess all those years with Troy in the lineup showed them nothing.

Brings depth and either beats out Savage or goes to the PS I would think…A very quick search on Twitter and I see this guy waived the Terrible Towel while with the Jags, taunted the Steelers while with the Browns last year, and had several other highlights mixing it up with the other team. Obviously he's good enough to have a 10-year career, but does anyone know what he's going to bring?
They took the benches out no time for relaxing it’s up tempo then more.Steelers need to add a cooler of Ensure next to the bench for all of the seniors.

Savage was just cut.how many damn safeties do we have now. how many do we need?
to me it feels like they just aren't happy with any of them . and yeah I know about the injury status for ramsey. even so.
Surprised me somewhat. Not that I thought he was a lock to make the roster…wasn’t the case at all. The timing of it was a little odd. Even the signing had its share of an odd approach. I take it he just wasn’t to a level of play they were looking for and felt he wasn’t going to reach that desired level in the days to come. Or maybe he was teetering on retirement? Which is speculation but yeah different somewhat odd series of events.Savage was just cut.
Wasn't Savage one of the players who agreed terms 6 months ago, but took four months to sign a contract? Sounds like his heart may not have been in it and your teetering on retirement comment is possibly spot on.Surprised me somewhat. i wonder if he was done mentally but got some extra pay day from steelers by signing . Then pulled his own plug . I dont know how the money/ pay works.. Surely they get some kind of pay when signing for camp.Wasn't Savage one of the players who agreed terms 6 months ago, but took four months to sign a contract? Yep. When I originally read about it rumors was he wasn’t 100 healthy and they were waiting until it came about. Then the last few practice days I read that he was a non participant. I didn’t read about a injury that contributed so yeah that took me back to the retirement theory suspicion.Wasn't Savage one of the players who agreed terms 6 months ago, but took four months to sign a contract? Not enough. I think it's easily the thinnest position on the depth chart (depending on where Ramsey is playing).how many damn safeties do we have now. how many do we need?

According to spotrac he got a guaranteed signing bonus of $187,500. As the Steelers released him, I doubt there will be any clawback. The comments by McCarthy suggest it might just be he wasn't up to the standards the Steelers were looking for, especially on special teams.i wonder if he was done mentally but got some extra pay day from steelers by signing .
