And you call 38 toss. If you know anything about football and think that was going to work you are absolutely kidding yourself. They have 8 men around the box and as soon as that ball is pitched its over. There is one team that could have worked against.... ....

That play was a perfect summary of my issues with what they expect from Harris on every damn play. How TF is that 260lb running back going to beat the entire defense around the edge to get the first down?
Just like how TF is he going to break 4 tackles on those check downs that Ben hangs him out to dry on?
Like Claypool getting hung out for execution on that check down today

Super frustrating because I know that 22 isn't the FASTEST back.... But goddamn man, that play call at the end of the half turned out to be the perfect way to close out another completely uninspired half.

I wondered allowed if they called 38 toss from the booth and Ben looked at the front and said **** it. You called it. There is no way he could have thought well this should work. No way.

Steve you are correct and are this week's Jeapordy champion. Congratulations.

Well Steve gets a lifetime supply of hairplugs from Geno's and a copy of Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People"! Congratulations, Steve!

It would have been good to have heard at halftime that "the Pittsburgh Steelers have fired Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada".....

If they don’t let Ben call the plays his final game in Pittsburgh I’m going to be beyond pissed off.

And last week they were completely passive going into the half. Today they are going for it 4th and 1 in their own end and call toss. It'd like he coaches with a magic 8 ball on the sideline. What should I do.........shake shake shake. Go for it. Ok magic eight ball what should we run. 38 toss.

I disagree... that play is called a lot on conversions, and if we seal the edge on that play we get it... it doesnt help that we cannot run up the middle so they key on everything outside, but what kills us is that our wrs and tes are piss poor at blocking.

The Canada offense is in use throughout the league... the concepts work fine elsewhere... IIRC andy Reid is one of the guys who used Matt Canada as a consultant to utilize some of his stuff in his offense...

THe offense will get fixed when the fundamentals get better across the board... now thats on coaching too, but we arent going to be very successful running into the center of that line with how they block either

Dude 38 Toss is JV high school. They throw it into the NFL to keep to keep the defense honest and a whole bunch of other plays alive. They were crowded into the LOS and as soon as its tossed 4 guys have angles to that play. It sucks *** at the best of times but at least if they are spread out a bit you might get edge.

the Pats, for one, run that all the time... Its for more prevalent in this NFL than you seem to think.

I would have run a flea flicker because it's kinda like a punt, but better.

Everyone runs 38-39 Toss. It's as basic a part of an offense as 31 dive. They just come up with a whole bunch of words around it. But it sure as hell is not a staple. It's purpose is to keep the end honest so he doesn't shorten the edge. But I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that no Belichick coached team was calling that particularly with the situation and the back. That call fell under they will never expect this. We'll they did.

It was that play call where I basically knew that this game was over.

I think during our watch party my comment was that that I felt like I was riding in the back seat while monkeys drove the car.

Flinging their **** at you while they drove brother.
I guess they could have put the Jet sweep on to Claypool and lost more yards or thrown hitch to Ray Ray against press. But as ridiculous as those two calls would have been they would have had a better chance.

Angry Melvin Ingram sure seemed to expect that play, and handled it perfectly.......
