5. Utilize the TE more

I have a slight disagreement with this list. It wasn't the lack of deep throws that hurt us it was the predictability of them and the lack of intermediate throws. We more or less totally abdicated the center of the field on both medium and long pass attempts. Doing so allowed the opposing defenses to crowd the line and the secondary to only have to honor the outside deep ball. This made the deep attempts very difficult to complete and very easy to see coming.

I think the predicate of the question is flawed. I don't think Canada; or Tomlin, for that matter, have "keeping up with the firepower of the AFC..." in their gameplans, at all.... I think that teams that are overly reactionary on offense are doomed to failure... Defensively, teams should react to "the firepower" they are confronted with... But on offense, successful teams impose their will... "Take what the other team gives you..." is not a complete gameplan... Successfully imposing one's will in addition to taking what they give you (no opponent 'gives' you enough to defeat them...) leads to success. The "taking what they give us" philosophy leads to "paralysis by analysis," as experienced by the Steelers of the Kordell Stewart era....

If Canada’s play calling is as ****** this year as it was last year it will be tomlin’s first losing season. Period. they have a real talent in Harris and should be using him like the 9ers use debo. somehow the Steeler brain trust got it in their collective head that Canada is some kind of genius. Well he needs to prove he’s more than just a “b” level college coach journeyman. This is his third year, second as coordinator, with a totally rebuilt offense and one rebuilt to his spec. There should be some sign of progress this year because last season was ****, outside of a few “Big Ben” moments, last years offense was one of worse put on the field by the Steelers in the modern era. Time for Tomlin and Canada to put up or get on with their life’s work. Elsewhere! GoSteelers!

9). Increase the average release time from 1.7 to 3.7 and great things will happen.

10.) Short leash O'Canada and let him know it that by week 4-6 there best be results or you're out.

11.) USE the F-uck-ing middle of the field and forward momentum screen passes

12.) a lot of talk of our interior OL being the strength of the unit, use a FB and attach the inside of the defense.

We have the horses we just need the play calling to be copacetic.

I was thinking they should use him like the Titans use Henry. To go a step further they should even approach the offense like the Titans. Because I see similar skill sets and I could see that approach working on offense. Pound the ball and run inside taking advantage of O-line strengths. Which opens it up for play action passing. That helped extend Tannyhill's starting status. Which could also be a QB friendly approach on a team that has a few newbies.

I think all three QBs have lively arms. Which they should be able to use the middle of the field and take advantage of Muth and some new speed in the slot which should be open in the middle. If this offense doesn't move the chains with the pieces in place it will all fall on Canada's shoulders.

The one thing that sticks out to me for us to keep up with the other offenses is overall better OL play. At every position especially at center each guy has to be at their best and this line has to develop continuity or else nothing else works. Everything and I mean everything relies on the solid play of the OL. The run game, the passing game. I don't care what kind of defense you have, if your OL stinks and you can't run the offense, the defense will suffer. I don't know if we did near enough to fix this OL. We shall see!

I think provided they stay healthy they should be able to run to Najee's strength -inside....

Hmmm. Best way to keep up with the AFC offense will be to stop it. I don’t believe we can trade firepower with Cincinnati . Browns and Ravens we are close. We have 2 QB’s that have never thrown a pass for us. Let’s hope they can do something. I worry more about our secondary. If we don’t pressure the QB we get toasted. Now confirmed no Tuit Great.
