Would just destroy this league
It's all a bunch of mediocre ****. The Steelers are a game above .500 and they have not played a 4 quarter game yet. You give me a 90's defense, Bettis and an oline. I would take any legit starter much less old Ben and you kill this league.

I agree. It's all just trash. Soft. Everyone looks exactly the same. Boring. Mediocre is a good term. The "60 Minute Men" would smoke the 15 minute men.

Those guys actually took pride in not letting people run on them at ALL.

What I don't understand is why some team hasn't figured out how soft the league is in general and made a real commitment to running the ball. Had the Titans when up 13-3 just took the air out of the ball on Sunday, they win going away. Thank you Titans. I think the Browns have one of the best tandems of running backs in the league but they seem to want to get Baker his.

If I had a strong line and a nice stable of running backs I would go back to a 70s style offense. Throw no more than 15-20 times a game. Just beat the **** out of people and see what happens.

That being said, I think on some level that is what kept the 90s Steelers teams from winning it all. They would get to the AFCC game or the Super Bowl and run into that team that could be just a little more dimensional and they'd get beat.

After they lost in the '94 AFCC game to the Chargers, I saw something with Bill Walsh and he broke down the pass to Foster in the endzone. Her showed how a little more advanced passing game...a little shift by Foster, a little more by O"Donnell and that pass is wide open. I can't remember what team he highlighted (probably the Niners) running a similar play and how easy it looked. I wished I remembered all the nuances, but the point is they got to those dimensional teams and lost.

yeah thats what the ravens have tried. Maybe a better defense and it would work

I'd love to see that game brought back but it takes a **** ton of effort and persistence to grind the ball down the field. There was nothing better than watching the other D with hands on their hips just totally worn out in the 4th quarter and we kept pushing them down field. They were powerless. Their only real chance was to force a fumble but being out of gas, that's tough to muster too.

I really don't think the guys in the trenches have it in them and most fans today would hate it. It's all about quick results in the attention deficit disorder society we're living in these days.

With Najee, the Steelers certainly have the capability to do this, they just need to fill the o-line with big uglies to impose their will and make it happen.

You’d have to have a TEAM all in on this type of approach. Can’t have WR‘S screaming in the media for the ball. QB’s in their contract year wanting to pad their stats. In other words......no me,me,me players. Is there such a thing in today’s NFL?

The league is unwatchable. Any team.wirh a decent QB will always score the go ahead FG or TD late in the game . Every game is a passing game with too many penalties and no physicality. Rather watch hockey.

Ya. Football is in danger of becoming basketball. The only part of the game that matters is the last 4 minutes.
