Ah the notorious dinner.

Couldn’t they have just smuggled all three back to PITTSBURGH and reported them as NO SHOW for the draft ?

I may be obsessed with OL, but I also KNOW what is needed most to make an offense great….. OL.

The ”Who needs linemen when you’ve got WEAPONS” cry is far gone and overused, also proven as false hope.

What are the chances the Bengirlies would intra-division trade Jonah Williams to us?
And what do we need to give them?

Someone told me he struggled so might not be a good idea to bring a T in with those known issues.

I'm hoping the tOSU guy is our first pick...

Are these dinners common? I never pay attention to other teams, but is it a practice other coaches do? If so, Tomlin pulls in a lot of top prospects when he's in town.

Good question fedderone, I highly doubt we could pull that off with them.

I do know we would have to call in our one and only “HEADS will ROLL” trade specialist Coach. Only he could pull it off, know though that we will risk the rights to “Gunner” but end up with Williams and a 1 first round pick.

The reality of it would be that the Bungles would want to much due to the inter-division involved. We only have so much “trade capital” and I wouldn’t be for losing any of that. Secondly, if not draft capital then they would want a player of equal caliber, something I’d be negligent in doing. You don’t create holes to fill holes.

Good thought and if he became a free agent, I’d have him in in a heartbeat To at least kick the tire.

Coach wouldn't know the compensation if the hair on his nose stood up and said “Walter Football said…..”

He’s on the final year of his rookie contract, he has the 5th year option (which is $10 mil for OT) that PIT would have to negotiate if they decline the it. He would be a rental for this year. Bungles has no leverage here, other than to hold on to him for injury protection and handling swing tackles (for a former 1st rd pick). The compensation any team would give is going to be low. Everyone knows Cinci doesn’t need him, and technically it’s best for both if the player was released.

1) Struggled playing through two dislocated kneecaps or struggled playing when healthy?

2) Have you seen our tackles?

3) Kid's only 25 years old and the Bengals picked up his 5th year option. His rookie season saw a torn labrum, and this past season saw the disclocated kneecaps in different weeks. These aren't the same nagging injuries. Bad luck maybe? I don't see any writeups of him being a scrub, struggling, not panning out, etc.
Buddy of mine who's a Bengals fan is upset it looks like they're actively shopping him, so.......................?

Yeah that was just what another poster said here I didn't research him. Good info on your part. I take it those injuries would have to be checked out regardless. 👊

And yes I have seen our tackles one good run blocker and one semi good pass protector.

More I think about it I wouldn't be upset with the Steelers addressing RT in the draft first.

I’m falling into this category some too. I’ve preached LT but more importantly OL.

Daily Shot DK sports today talked about how the FO views Dan Moore. He felt they were satisfied and looked positively on him. That doesn’t mean they won’t replace him but it does say that they may not prioritize LT as much as one would think they should.

It’s a different perspective to view players through. Trying to look through the team’s eye would take a lot more exposure to the team on a face to face & more daily basis. I can only guess their mind-set but I can see we need a OT upgrade to either side or both. Being LT is by far the more important for the overall ability of the unit, that is why it gets my vote to upgrading it.

In a perfect world I think both could use upgrading. It will be interesting to see which side ultimately gets their nod.

Which still might not lend a clue to their ultimate want. If the value is at RT or LT, I would presume that would cause the trigger on the gun to be squeezed.

That trigger needs to be set on fully automatic………

THIS!
I just want our trenches built up, both O and D.
Present day, I think our D line is better than our O line, and would love to see 1.17 go towards BPA on O-Line.
That's my hope/dream.
But as I've said in another thread, I just want BPA that isn't QB or RB.

Having dealt with knee issues personally, my uneducated opinion is the dislocated knee caps aren't bad luck. It's a lack of strength leading to poor stability of the knees. Steer clear.

You don't think he will improve?
I don’t know if it was DK’s site, or on one of Dale/Mike’s and Matt’s podcasts, but they said the same about Moore. He’s has talent, but he needs a true vet next to him to help him with in play adjustments, Seumalo or Herbig would fit that bill perfectly.
