Despite what you may have taught in 'school', Benito Mussolini was hard left. Mussolini's father was a socialist who named his son Benito in honor of Mexican leftist president Benito Juárez . Mussolini had been a leading member of the National Directorate of the Italian Socialist Party and was the editor in chief of their daily rag. Mussolini's seminal quote was 'All within the
state, nothing outside the
state, nothing against the
state'. Enough of Mussolini's leftist bonafides.
We have been inculcated by the leftists in 'education' to attach the term 'fascist' to anything
they disagree with, which by default is anything to their right. But indeed, the origin of the term lies with Benito himself...
"The English words fascism and fascist are borrowings from Italian fascismo and fascista, derivatives of fascio (plural fasci), “bundle, fasces, group.” Fascista was first used in 1914 to refer to members of a fascio, or political group. In 1919, fascista was applied to the black-shirted members of Benito Mussolini’s organization, the Fasci di combattimento (“combat groups”), who seized power in Italy in 1922. Playing on the word fascista, Mussolini’s party adopted the fasces, a bundle of rods with an ax among them, as a symbol of the Italian people united and obedient to the single authority of the state. The English word fascist was first used for members of Mussolini’s fascisti, but it has since been generalized to those of similar beliefs." Merriam-Webster.
Benito was a socialist first. Then he used thuggery to achieve his ends. The Nazis were socialists. Their name means 'national socialism'. They used thuggery to achieve their ends. Everything Benito and Dolph did and implemented in gubmint was socialist. Left. Hard left.
So, what is antifa's beef with 'fascism'? Antifa is as hard left as you can be. Antifa operates in the identical mode as the 'fascists' they hate. The fascists from whom the word descends were ideologically and functionally identical to the antifa of then and now with one exception - the 'fascists' were socialist and antifa was and is communist. Communism is but one bus stop down on the ride through socialism to oblivion. So why did/do they clash? Who knows. There is little reason among rival mobs.
Move forward nearly a century to the dimwits in scarves who call themselves antifa, and indeed carry their branding and behavior. But who are the 'fascists' they get all worked up about? Certainly not Nazis, however few there are. No, now its whoever makes their pampered little butts sore that draws their ire. They have no Earthly notion what they're doing or what they're 'acting out'. And that is particularly dangerous because they not only have no reasonable boundaries, but no unreasonable boundaries.
