I would fire myself from watching the team after the they got to about 0-10 in the first season of that 0-17 run..lol.

I think if we had a white coach named with the same lousy playoff record he wouldn't keep getting extensions and the people in the Tomlin Fan Club would want him gone.

But this is important and part of what pisses me off. He says ALL. Another example I have used on here is when people say a loss is ALL on Tomlin. It defies common sense.

LOL.....You wrote a short novel explaining the use of the word.."ALL". I didn't get what you did. I do know that.

Nope....I took the word "all" as an emphasis...sort of an over-exaggeration perhaps. Your take is better though....humorously anyway.

It might not perhaps.....or it might. I tend to lean it does. I could be wrong. Race has been a very hot topic the last four years.

Yeah...I guess I did. Regular Steinbeck I am. But dammit...they are not playing well and the coaching stinks. But they are still credible.

My point is if that would stop Rooney...after giving him 17 years of employment, well, maybe that would lose credibility.

That might get you the interview or even the job, which makes the NFL happy, but it's not like the league gives your team a couple of extra wins or a playoff win for affirmative action.
Now, would they give you a playoff win because your division is on Hard Knocks to keep the show interesting? We shall see.

"Credible" how? What do we believe about the Steelers that they try to make us believe?

That overpaying a defense is the way to win? That a Tomlin-coached team is good? Is capable of winning in the playoffs? What?

They always put a relevant and competitive team on the field. This is not the Jacksonville Jaguars or Cleveland Browns or something. The results have not led to championships. But to lack credibility there has to be a lack of effort to be relevant or competitive. For example, like in basketball, when a team doesn't even try to win so as to get a better draft pick. That is a lack of credibility.

In the event, just because you disagree with the way they do things doesn't mean they lack credibility. You still need defense. A Tomlin coached team is good. They ain't 3-14 or something and they made the playoffs. They are capable of winning in the playoffs. Do you think the Ravens are gonna approach this game like the Steelers aren't capable of winning?
 
Tomlin QUIT on the Team TWICE this year, that alone would be grounds for firing him. I can understand not wanting to do it during the season, but after the season is finished, he would be told "thanks" for his time. Now, if he was able to win a Super Bowl this year, I could be convinced to reconsider.

I hear everything you are saying MT-Forged and thanks for all your great post(s) along the way.

Bottom line is Tom Lin is going nowhere until that contract expires. Could be longer if like you say he wins a playoff game or two, add in a SB and he’d be here for the rest of his life.

My self, I need a little bit more and I’m selfish on top of that……… I need two playoff wins this year……..

I think the Ravens are going to attack us at what they deem are our weaknesses. And adjust as the game unfolds. They will try to keep scoring until the final second of the game.
