Attention NFL Stop With the New Numbers for Players

If i sound like the old man yelling on his porch so be it. I can't stand what the NFL did with player numbers, essentially allowing players to wear whatever number they want. I have no idea who's who while watching these games.

Teddy Bridgewater was wearing 50 today. They have 0 as a number now. DL wearing single digits? It's so stupid.

I get while they allow this in college. College rosters can have over 100 players on them. In college you have 2 players wearing the same number (they can't be on field at the same time), because there just aren't enough numbers. The NFL does not have that problem.

Now get off my lawn!

The number changes were dumb. I know the players think it's cute to have a LB wear a RB number, but it makes the game more difficult to watch. You can't tell if a player is a LB or DB, defenders are wearing QB/K/P numbers, it's just a mess. Heck, if you were linebacker wearing a number in the 40s, I knew you were getting cut. Now they just wear numbers like these just because.

I don't see what the big deal is. If you follow a team, you'll learn a player's number and position, and you won't be confused about whether a LB or DB made the tackle. I mean, WR's have been wearing "QB numbers" for years. Pretty sure people knew it wasn't the back-up QB with 90 catches and 11 TD's.

I agree with tape. Really dislike DL wearing #34. Yeah, I get that WR's began wearing numbers other than in the 80's about 10 years ago, but always disliked the fact that Ju-ju was #19. 19? @#$% that. No. 80? 81? 89? Solid.
