DL- Travis Jones would make a nice NT to replace Alualu in 2023 while he can ease into the starting role over the 2022 season.
Logan Hall would make a nice replacement for Heyward one day or perhaps an insurance policy if Tuitt ends up not coming back.
OL- Bernhard Rainmann is a native Austrian that is really just learning the game and position as he was a TE that converted to OT. That said his pff grade has gone from 47.7, to 75.1 to 94.6 this last year and finished his last 6 collegiate games without giving up so much as a QB pressure. That said he’s short armed and needs a little more sand in his pants.
Abraham Lucas checks all the physical boxes with height, weight, arm length and athleticism. But wasn’t very consistent in his pass protection and imo is going to always be a RT.
WR- Skyyy Moore is a hometown kid that would probably have the same reaction and enthusiasm getting to come to Pittsburgh as Pickett did. Moore is a little undersized but has good straight speed and impressively large hands.
Christian Watson is going to check all the physical boxes at 6-4 208lbs and the sub 4.4 forty. Competition and he was a but inconsistent though in college.
LB- Leo Chenal imo would immediately improve our run defense as he graded 94.1 in run defense via pff. He also is one of the best interior blitzers I’ve seen come out of college in the last 20 years. I feel he’d take over in early downs allowing Jack and Bush to cover and let Leopold do the dirty work sifting through the trash. Big knock is he wasn’t asked to do much in coverage besides sit in his zone. But if you look at his athleticism he definitely has the ability. Just wasn’t asked to do it in college.
CB- Roger McCreary is one of the safest picks in my opinion. He reminds me a lot of Joe Haden. Might not be a super star but he’ll do his job and come up with a timely interception.
Andrew Booth Jr is much of the same. Put him out wide and he’ll start for the next ten years for you.
S- Jaquan Brisker played big when his team needed a big play. He’s super consistent and imo would compliment Fitz very well.
Jalen Pitre is a bit of a swiss army knife. He plays all over the field and has a nose for the ball.
Kerby Joseph is my personal favorite atm. Former wr turned DB who exploded onto the scene with 5 picks this last year and grading out at a 90.4 according to pff. He’s an ascending player for sure.
