So Brady is counting 20 m on the cap this year he costed 10 last year coming off a SB. The Watson's, Roger's and I assume Wilson's of the league will be making more then double. Shouldn't every player have to make a range commencement with his value. I know it looks super awesome of Tom Terrific to only play for the winning, but he has all the money he could ever need and that creates competitive imbalance. And one would think the NFLPA should have something to say about the effect on other members of one taking far less then true value.

Nope. There already is a set league minimum.. the max if teams were smart should be like 12 to 15% of the cap that teams dont win if they have a contract over… but thats like an iq test

People constantly rip on QBs like Rodgers and Watson for sucking every dime they can out of a franchise, hindering the team around them.

I'm not going to criticize a QB for prioritizing winning by taking far under his market value to maximize the team around him.

I'm not ripping on him. I just question in a league that is driven by parity if it should be legal. What if he played for league min?

Didn’t Ben take less last year? He doesn’t need more money. Did you critique him?
Or is this just about hatred/jealousy of Brady.

Legal? C’mon. Free Enterprise society. If he wants to play for vet minimum.....up to him. Once again.....if Ben or another well paid star did that last season so the Steelers could sign more players they’d be a hero here. Just more Brady hate. Yawn.

Now if it’s ever found out he is taking something or promised something else, say after career is over....that’s another story.

Brady has earned a **** ton of money, all while taking less so the team can be stocked around him. Of all things Brady, this is the thing I respect about him more than ANY other QB in recent memory. Nobody needs 10+ million a year for playing a ******* game, any game.

so now we get censorship AND all the ******* ads?

The Steelers arevstill on it for 10 this year bro. That's 24 total. That was his value.
Talking-about QB’s taking salary cuts for the team to help with signings. I don’t really have to link one of the hundred articles about him taking a 5 million pay cut last year do I. You know exactly the 10 mill is for restructuring,as they do with all big contracts to spread the money, creates cap.

It should 100% be legal

There is a cap and floor and teams can allocate their money however they wish.

Glad to have Brady back by the way, first solid move he’s made in awhile. Now there won’t be any other QBs stinking up the stage at Ben’s HOF ceremony.

I have no problem disliking the f-u-c-k-i-n-g cheating ******* and neither should anyone else.

If it were ever found out he is taking money later or under the table...................... how would that make a difference as it happened when he played for the cheatriots and NOTHING was done then, why the hell would it matter now ?

I get the jist of what you are saying but also realize it's ok to call t*mmyb*y out in everything because he has been involved in nearly everything cheating.

Teams often let high paid players leave because they’re confident in lower paid players to replace them. There’s many underpaid (and overpaid) players in the NFL. The only way to fairly compensate players would be to do it after the fact. No signing bonus’, they get paid the same base draw and then after the season they get a bonus based on games played, started and productivity. Owners might be in favor of that system, but I’m sure the players Union is not.

It's about time this league figures out it takes a complete 53 man roster to win a championship and not just one overpaid QB. That is if they really care about winning or just selling merchandise.

Alot of players make more money than they know what to do with. Not sure why more don't take a paycut to help field a competitive team. I guess it is just greed. A QB like Rodgers, Mahomes, Watson, etc etc could play for half of what they do and the team could sign 2 more premiere players. The way the cap is allows freedom for teams to build how they want, but i think it would be interesting if each position was capped. I think teams would be able to build more complete rosters if you didn't have a couple players eating up a huge amount of the cap.

That would be between team management and players. As long as agents are involved they're going to get as much for their individual clients as possible. The more the player makes the more the agent makes.
