As much as we “hate” the quarterback, we have to respect his game. He drove Steeler fans crazy throughout his entire career and was extremely fun to always root against!

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ arch nemesis, QB Tom Brady has reportedly chose to retire a few days after Steelers’ future first ballot Hall of Fame QB Ben Roethlisberger announced his retirement. It seems the quarterback will steal the thunder of Roethlisberger one last time in 2027 when they both take the podium in Canton to relay their Hall of Fame speeches on the same day. One cannot predict the future, but it looks as if Roethlisberger and Brady will be elected to the Hall of Fame in the same year. It seems as if Brady will steal the thunder of the Steelers’ quarterback one last time in his Hall of Fame career.

Let’s take a look back on the top 5 times, the GOAT has upstaged the Steelers over his career (in the Roethlisberger era) one last time since the quarterback has announced his retirement:

1) Big Ben’s rookie year: 2004 AFC Championship game

Comparable to Jordan’s flu game in the fact that Brady had a fever above 100 degrees on the night before kickoff, the GOAT completed 14 of 21 passes on the night for 207 yards and two touchdowns. The New England Patriots took the lead early and never seemed to look back. Roethlisberger threw 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions (1 of which that was returned for a touchdown by safety Rodney Harrison late in the second quarter that was the icing on the cake that the Patriots never seemed to look back from). The Patriots would go on to win the Super Bowl after this game.

2) Jesse James “catch” in the 2017 Week 15 regular season game

Initially ruled a completion, but later overturned, TE Jesse James had caught the ball with 28 seconds left in the game to seal the victory against the Patriots. A couple plays later, Roethlisberger throws an interception to seal the Patriots’ victory. If the Steelers would have gone on to claim victory, they would have claimed the AFC’s Number 1 seed in the playoffs and one might wonder how they would have played against different competition in the playoffs that year. This one hurts the most as a Steelers’ fan. We all know that James caught the ball! The Patriots would go on to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl and ultimately lose on the “Philly Special” to the Philadelphia Eagles.

3) 2010 Regular Season

Brady completed 30 of 43 passes for 350 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also running for another. TE Rob Gronkowski torched the Steelers’ defense for three touchdowns. The Patriots scored 29 second half points to beat the Steelers 39-26. The Patriots weren’t as fortunate after this one and ended up losing to the New York Jets in the Divisional round and the Steelers were the team that would go on to the Super Bowl, unfortunately to ultimately lose to the Green Bay Packers.

4) 2013 Regular Season

The Patriots scorched the Steelers to another double digit, 55-31 win. Brady threw for 432 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Patriots outscored the Steelers 28-7 in the 4th quarter of the game to go on and claim another victory against a high-powered Steelers’ offense that had Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Le’Veon Bell. It was another halt of the Steelers’ killer B’s that resulted in another Brady win. After this game, the Patriots would go back to the AFC Championship game and ultimately lose to the Denver Broncos.

5) 2016 AFC Championship Game: aka Chris Hogan uncovered

The Patriots put on a clinic of exposing and taking advantage of an opponents’ weakness by beating the Steelers 36-17 at Gillette Stadium to reach the Super Bowl once again by beating the Steelers. Brady threw for 384 yards and threw three touchdowns and WR Chris Hogan had one of the best games of his career as Patriot, catching 9 receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns. The Patriots never trailed and the game went on to be the “Hogan game.” The Steelers just didn’t have an answer for Hogan all night long, especially up the seam. After this one, the Patriots would go on to win another Super Bowl against the Atlanta Falcons.

As much as we hate the quarterback, Brady has time and time again shown that he had the big game ability to beat the Steelers when it mattered the most. The quarterback has a 3-0 record against the Steelers in the AFC Championship game. If only, Brady didn’t play in the Roethlisberger era, imagine how many Super Bowls the Steelers would have collected in that time frame!

Br*dy didn't want Ben to get into the HOF before he did.

If Brady retires, I can all but guarantee that they waive the 5 year wait for him.

Peter King, in his passive-aggressive way, is already openly advocating that Roethlisberger not be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. His argument is weak and contrived. To him, it's just not that big of a deal to be elected on the first ballot. To bolster his case, he creates a "what if" scenario of NFL players that could go in front of Ben, players that have not even announced their retirement. NFL Players: JJ Watt, Tyrone Mathieu, Adrian Peterson, and Aaron Rogers. Ben can wait his turn because, see, it is no big deal. Nobody remembers what ballot you are elected on.

Why would Peter King, an outspoken HOF voter, even float this, and why would he float this now?

Maybe because Peter King knows, what everybody who has ever watched a HOF Induction knows, That Pittsburgh fans will dominate attendance and he fears Spygate will be moved front and center by the reaction to the *'s QB induction from the Pittsburgh faithful.

It is completely disgusting.

The NFL made this bed, they can lie, lie, lie in it. Burn those tapes Roger. Conceal the truth. Have a press conference, show cherry-picked segments of the voluminous hours of tapes, then admonish and ridicule the Media for asking questions.

The league must do something:
1) Brady eligible after 1 year is already being floated, I seriously doubt that it gets any traction. It is an act usually reserved for true heroes, like say, oh I don't know, Roberto Clemente?
2) Moving the ceremony indoors so tickets can be allocated makes a lot of sense, they will need to create a rationale for that move.
3) Making Ben wait a year is the easiest most plausible path, and league sycophant Peter King has been dispatched to lay down the predicate.

So, screw over the guy, whose team got screwed over the most, by Spygate. What a tremendous insult.

Remember the last time the *'s got busted for cheating, remember what was said, remember the defense for that action foisted upon us by the NFL fraudsters and sycophants? "Come on, I mean. it's the Bengals, you can't be serious. What would Belichick possibly have to gain? I am sure HE did not know, I mean, please, it's the Bengals"

How about research on this year's Super Bowl team, and probably one of the top 3 QB's in the AFC.
Sort of like 2004, no? How about EXACTLY like in 2004

That team, that coach, and this league deserve everything that is coming to them on that day, the day they coronate the QB they have dubbed the GOAT, whose accomplishments were earned through all their ill-begotten ways.

It is our duty that the truth is repeated, loudly and often.

To confirm, is your argument that Brady shouldn't be inducted before Ben? If so, seriously? Even as a Steelers fan, I know that isn't an opinion that is commonly shared. In fact, it defies logic. Personally, I'll always be a huge Big Ben fan, but Brady is hands down the greatest to ever play that position.

Hopefully repeating your "truth" loudly and often brings you some sense of fulfillment. Personally, I think it will just make us all look bad as Steelers fans. And it won't change the fact that Brady has earned the right to be inducted before our own QB.

Brady, like all the baseball steroids cheaters, should never get in the hall of fame… its just a damn shame that they caught endleman instead of him for roiding up… but guys like Brady and Ortiz in mlb can afford those synthetics that are almost impossible to detect outside of specific blood tests… thats why big popi popped on the unofficial more robust test but never failed a regular one… and why they let him in when they kept better players out … cheaters, the lot of em

No Confirmation possible. Not at all what I wrote.

Seriously? Brady deserves HOF entrance before Ben? That would be true if he had retired before Ben, but he has to wait 5 years like every other elected member. Unless something unfortunate occurs, like death. Then I believe they waive the 5 year period, like the BBHOF.
