So this seems like a great way to disrupt a season from the get go... bear in mind in 2025 we probably play a game in ireland... expect more 17th game international nonsense over the next few years
I hope Goodell gets brazillian Crabs down there...
That would be worth viewing. I would even let one play center. Will the sideline camera shots go to them brazilian honeys? Please give us beautiful brazilian women
I was assuming that would be how they would get to 18 games. The 17th game will end up being an international game for everyone so there are full schedules in cities around the world. It'll be a slow process, but it'll get there eventually. The NFL needs an extra bye in place for international travel.
Brazil is amazing. But I dont give money to the nfl any longer. no games, no jerseys nothing. (except sunday ticket)

It’s already creeping up on such a worthless product that eventually many of us will just quit watching it at all.
But Drink, don’t you watch The Rog’s state of the league or town halls? Everything is fine, everyone is happy. The games never been better
The women are beautiful but I’ve seen enough best gore videos of cartels in Brazil to pass on such a glorious nfl opportunityWho would have ever thought the JOKE and the GREED the NFL has become.
25 years ago my only concern was the Fantasy Football effect..
Now days it’s anything and everything that could bring in a $buck$…!!!

The STEELERS have been fortunate to not have to play over seas, but to counter that…… the good O’l Rog puts us into hellish season schedules, including the covid 3-game stint / 2- Thursday night game / ect……
WHO (here) IS MAKING THE TRIP ???

That is why the SB is now competing with Valentines Day.....the NFL is grabbing more calendar. The 17th game will end up being an international game for everyone so there are full schedules in cities around the world. I would agree that you know mush brains. This is the last thing that should be on anyones mind. Let's get competitive and then start whining about whatever. All these winning seasons are turning your brains to mush

Yep, the NFL is going down market to gather more $$$. The best quality of football has already happened......as most here already know.Flooding the market with over exposure, also creates less want or need to watch. It also delutes quality of play, but the NFL has zero worries as long as the $$$dollar$$$ continues to roll.

I’m sure this opinion will be popular. Look. I miss the hard hitting old time rock em sock em football just as much as the rest of you guys. I put on the pro bowl for 10 minutes and was absolutely disgusted with that flag football ,all the players laughing it up every 10 seconds,I mean people actually paid money for this crap? And flag football is going to be an Olympic sport? But Drink, don’t you watch The Rog’s state of the league or town halls? Everything is fine, everyone is happy. The games never been better
Sorry ,but I kind of chuckled at the “ but that will be a long flight for the players”. I’ve taken several flights to Europe or Asia in my lifetime. Hundreds of thousands do a 7+ hour flight everyday. Not just football players. Who will get first class, wined and dined at every opportunity, stay in a top class hotel with fine dining, treated like rock stars, and most of them will be paid a minimum of 100,000$ with many making 500,000$ plus for the week. Yes....I feel for these guys. Where do I sign up?Sao Paulo is 2 hours ahead of the eastern time zone and a 10 hour non stop flight from Pittsburgh. Direct flight to London is 7 hours and 8 hours to Frankfurt. London is 5 hours ahead and Frankfurt 6. At least the game won't require an early morning wake up but that will be a long flight for the players, considering it's the first game the teams can give themselves plenty of time to shake off the flight and get acclimated.
Daily average September high is 75 degrees in San Paulo.
If the Steelers do play in this game, the possibility of a Monday night game for our home opener the following week increases.
I remember when I finally heard the song after all that fuss...thinking, that's the song? Black Americans have developed the fantastic music of jazz and blues, and that's the song they come up with?I’m sure this opinion will be popular. Look. I miss the hard hitting old time rock em sock em football just as much as the rest of you guys. I put on the pro bowl for 10 minutes and was absolutely disgusted with that flag football ,all the players laughing it up every 10 seconds,I mean people actually paid money for this crap? Now with all this being said.....this is a business. The job of a business is to make money. Hopefully do it with ethics’s,create employment, put out a good product,be an asset to their community, treat and pay their employees well, and very importantly in a business....not remain stagnant.
Without the expansion, which in turn created big money tv contracts, exposure, big time marketing who knows if the Steelers build Heinz field. Who knows if they would have survived. Things change.
While many cringe at these international games, look at the money it brings in. Look at the excitement it creates for a city like Rio,a city like Frankfurt,Mexico City. Also look at the economic impact it brings to those cities. The jobs it creates.
Once again...it’s a business. Like other business franchise don’t expand their product out of the states? Yea right. The NFL has a stringent vetting system in place. Not to mention the cost of a franchise team. It shall be interesting what it looks like 100 years from now.
How many jobs does one NFL team create for a city? The ripple effect is humongous.
The trick will be not to water down the product. And with the international exposure, surely there one day will be many non Americans playing pro ball. Look at Baseball. Look at a roster and birth places. The NHL the same thing.
Is the product better or worse for it? The quality?
I could go on and on about this. It’s always easy to be critical of other people’s business. Sitting on the sidelines. Heck....I do it all the time. So many say....that’s it! I won’t buy any more tickets, merchandise etc. This game is bull ****!
Rodger has ruined it!
In 2023.......93 of the top 100 watched tv programs were NFL games.
On this very forum a couple years ago, when it was announced they were going to play the Black American Anthem, many on here said...that’s it! If they do that,no more watching or support of the nfl for me! How’s that working out for you?
This game is more popular than ever. I’d say the one disconcerting stat for the NFL is that every year in the USA football enrollment for boys has been dropping. While internationaly, while still in its infancy, leagues are popping up,more and more interest is being created. Coincidentally happening with NFL games abroad? With the huge reach of Streaming, with anyone being able to watch any game?
Globally I’d say the NFL has never been more popular and is slowly but surely setting up for the Walmart motto of Global dominance. They have a long, long way to go to even come close to Soccer. But it definitely looks like it wants a bigger piece of the pie. After all....it’s a business.
Just a little bit of rambling in the off season.
One day way down the road when I’m long gone the SB will probably be a North American League vs the winner of Europe league or Asia league or whatever it will be. It definitely will be international.
I’ve lost interest in the product a long time ago. I don’t even stress over if I miss a Steelers game anymore.Flooding the market with over exposure, also creates less want or need to watch. It also delutes quality of play, but the NFL has zero worries as long as the $$$dollar$$$ continues to roll.
