The Pittsburgh Steelers made a huge coaching splash announcing Saturday that the team has hired former Miami Dolphins head coach, Brian Flores as senior defensive assistant/linebackers coach.
Flores has 14 years of NFL coaching experience and will be one of the biggest names in terms of coaching hires in the Tomlin era. Flores had an incredible way of motivating players and getting the best out of the Dolphins the past few years. This is not only an important hire, but a great one from Tomlin.
Flores has recently been in the spotlight for his lawsuit against the Dolphins, NFL and other teams for a discriminatory hiring process. While many thought this may hurt his coaching career, Mike Tomlin has plenty of respect for him and has now brought him onto the staff to help a struggling linebacking core.
