Bubby Brister's son was arrested in an apparent hit and run that left a guy dead in Baton Rouge.

In the article, it gave Bubby's NFL stats and I was blown away at just how God awful he was. I mean, I remember the 80's all too well, but even this shocked me.

Bubby Brister played 14 seasons in the NFL, but he’s best known for his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1986-1992. He posted a 28-29 mark as a starter with Pittsburgh.

He also had stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings. He was a member of two Super Bowl-winning teams backing up John Elway with the Broncos in 1997-1998.

For his career, Brister threw for 14,445 yards, with 81 touchdowns and 78 interceptions.

Sad. Kids make their own decision. It sucks. Prayers for the family of the deceased, Bubby, and so many other.

Blessings to all involved. The victims family and friends need closure and catching the accused is the start of that, BUT most importantly they need condolences and a means of forgiveness.

Don't forget that Bubby's son needs help as well in all this.

Salute the nation

Firstly condolences to the victim of course.

While we thought of him as a failure as our QB......in the grand scheme of things,I was shocked that he lasted 14 seasons. With a couple super bowl rings. That’s 14 seasons with NFL paychecks, followed by a great pension plan.
Not a bad way to earn a living. If I remember right he did TV for college football after his NFL days ?

Brister Signs Richest Contract in Steeler History

L.A. TIMES ARCHIVES

Quarterback Bubby Brister, previously the National Football League’s lowest-paid starting quarterback, signed a three-year contract that will make him the highest-paid player in the history of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Brister was on the option year of a contract that would have paid him $187,000 this year. His new contract is worth a reported $2.75 million, with incentives that could make the total value nearly $1 million a year.
The Steelers’ highest-paid player was cornerback Rod Woodson, who signed a $2 million deal as a rookie in 1987.

Tragic news! I don’t know any facts surrounding the actual accident but regardless, you have to stop and render aid, phone the authorities. That’s just a human rights moral code and obligation we all have and you simply can’t run away.
Walter Brister Jr you should be hanging your head in shame young man.

At the same time, if not for Brister going 4-0 in 1998 replacing Elway, the Broncos probably do not make the playoffs or win the SB.
