A Qb that use to play here is getting his interview with the Jaguars. Byron Leftwich. The Jags asked permission from tampa to interview him. Good Luck Byron, always liked the guy.

EDIT: spelling of Byron vs Brian, special thanks to all who pointed this VERY early morning mistake.......... Medium rare crow is best

I don’t know if Leftwich is the right fit for the Jags right now, but it’s be a great PR move hire. Former player, well liked and respected as a coach. He feels like he’s due for a job and they have a blue chip building block with Lawrence, though he’s been a massive disappointment.

I do wonder if they’ll go with someone like Caldwell to stabilize the franchise or swing for the fences with Leftwich.

When he wins his first playoff game they should carry him off the field. That would only be right.😁

So if a former player goes on to be a coach / playoff winner / SB winner, willTomlin get a limb on his coaching tree...............................?

My issue is with any hire linked to a team that has a good offensive minded HC in place. You wonder how much of that contributed to his success. Ditto for the D side of the ball as well when thinking off hiring a DC for the HC position.

Did he coach under Tomlin?

Byron is the Shaft we seek. I'm afraid we may have gotten an imposter. I'm gonna be shocked if they don't hire him.

Absolutely along with having Tom Brady at QB. I think Leftwich has plus leadership abilities and would need to build a strong staff to succeed in Jacksonville. Given his limited experience, he doesn’t have the same connections a more veteran coach has. Can the owner/GM pull some strings to help build that staff?

Wasn't he our QB coach for a while? I know he was on staff, or at least I think he was.

Edit, his Wiki page makes no mention of him ever coaching here, so I guess I don't know what I'm talking about. I would have placed a significant wager upon him being a coach here at some point. Maybe he was just injured or something and roaming the sidelines like a coach.
