Apparantly is in concussion protocol.

Do steelers bring in an outside talent?

or stick with Van jefferson, Mike Williams, Ben Skarownek ?

Im betting they don't bring anyone in, but it would be maybe more interesting that mike Williams has been

Not sure if PS can supply us, but it’s December and time to UN-Leash the Williams………….

I don’t see outside help entering the equasion.

Salute the nation

Time for Scottie Miller to suit up and step up...
Ben is a great blocker I definitely keep him in. Miller has some speed perhaps it is time to give him a 1 game look…

I think Skowronek is a steeler type player, but I don't think he should be on the field over Williams. If they want another blocker then fine, but then put in Williams over Jefferson. We pick up these players and don't give them a chance. Williams has made a huge play in limited opportunities. I just wish they would give him a shot

I thought I read that Wilson was eligible to return. I guess not.

He can... up to 8 people put on ir during the season can come back (2 players on IR in preseason can be part of that 8, but they have to be designated as such)

In the postseason each team gets 2 more spots for players to come back... so Wilson may yet play... but Tomlin isnt a fan of rookie wrs who havent had a lot of time to prove themselves in practice to play..

i didnt realize he was not some smallish dude.

his 40 is 4.59. Never heard anything about his hands... Good high point. Maybe he should be used more in the red zone.
But im no talent evaluator.. I just wonder what he can do. Aside from Special teams.

Calvin Austin is off the injury list anyway..

Also regarding Roman Wilson.

Bringing him back would probably mean demoting someone else to PS. or cut or whatever.. Going into this stretch the team is basicly set. I think
it would be crazy to demote skorownek due to his special teams and blocking.

Scotty Miller has been a healthy scratch, but is a veteran of Arthur Smiths Offense. So he is also valuable.
I think maybe mike is happy to leave wilson where he is , and just finish the season this way.

I don't cut Skorownek, he's an excellent ST player and is getting better on O every week. Miller becomes redundant if you bring back Roman Wilson, because they play the same position. So you wouldn't cut a great ST player to have 3 X receivers. I'd try and drop Miller to the PS if he clears waivers.

Might be Roman Wilson time.
I had honestly totally forgotten we even have Wilson haha, what is even going on with him? I assume he’s healthy by now…insane

I think it’s now or never for Williams, does anyone who watches film of the whole field know if Williams creates separation and gets open when he’s out there?

Bigger question is why just 1 catch? Something ain't right with him

Williams seems to get playing time only due to other WRs being injured.

He was in the game when he scored the TD against the Commanders only because Austin was hurt earlier.

I'm not sure how good he is anymore, as he was never a particularly good router runner and he doesn't seem fast as he was earlier in his career with the Chargers.

Around this time the Pickens are slim. Scrap heap is the option.

For many many years, WRs almost never contributed as a rookie. Coaches were terrified that they would blow route assignments or hot reads and cause picks... recent years have changed that philosophy, but mostly because teams have rookies learn limited packages... so Wilsons injuries have put him behind on practice and Tomlin wont use a rookie until he feels the guy isnt gonna mess up in a game

As for Williams... he has limited routes as he acclimates ... the problem is similar to DJ in Baltimore... he is redundant to what they have and is more an injury safeguard than full out wr2... As a contested catch guy, Pickens is light years better.. as a speed guy Austin is, as a blocker Jefferson is...
he is there for when a player is winded or injured... not a full time piece yet...

The thing is that the Steelers have a pretty deep history of getting significant contributions from rookie WRs under Tomlin.

Was Tomlin entirely convinced all those players were not going to make crucial mistakes before he put them out there? It seems to always be a risk that is taken with rookies.

Considering that, I'm just not entirely convinced it is all injury/lack of reps related when it comes to Wilson.

They might not be impressed with what he's showing during the week, and if he's still not executing the basics six months since minicamp, it might not be a good sign.

Right, but those contributions were from guys who didnt miss camp time or early games due to injury... or didnt show issues tgey wanted to straighten out first.. CA3 got hurt and they never brought him back off IR... AB couldnt get a helmet outside of special teams his rookie season because they wanted him to get better at routes before they used him...

Even like wallace, that guy had a super limited route tree his first year
