Cam is pretty darn near a lock to make the team. I'd call him a lock, but that's an insult to guys like Roethlisberger, Polamalu, Brown, etc.
How many defensive linemen are they going to keep? Heyward, Tuitt, McClendon, McCullers based on the way he is going now. We also have Fangoupo, Arnfelt, Williams from last year 69 Arnfelt, Brian DE 6-4 298 24 2 Northwestern
79 Hemer, Ethan DE 6-6 285 23 R Wisconsin
97 Heyward, Cameron DE 6-5 288 25 4 Ohio State
71 Mauro, Josh DE 6-6 282 23 R Stanford
91 Tuitt, Stephon DE 6-5 303 21 R Notre Dame
67 Williams, Nick DE 6-4 309 24 2 Samford
74 McCullers, Daniel DL 6-7 352 21 R Tennessee
92 Fangupo, Hebron DT 6-0 324 29 2 Brigham Young
65 Lapuaho, Al DT 6-2 301 22 1 Utah State
62 Philon, Roy DT 6-3 291 23 R Louisville
96 Thomas, Cam DT 6-4 330 27 5 North Carolina
90 McLendon, Steve NT 6-4 320 28 5 Troy
I think there are at best 3 positions on the defensive line up for grabs and really would only think 2 show a possibility. I think McCullers is starting to show too much right now and if it continues he would not be able to be stashed on the practice squad, someone would take him. Mclendon is a lock, Heyward is a lock, Arnfelt is a keeper, Tuitt is really doing well. Now there is one spot left and you have Thomas and his baggage, Fangupo, Williams trying for the last spot. I think Williams could still go to the practice squad. When you look at what is there for the total of six positions there is not a lot of room to say this guy is a lock. Tuitt seems like he may really be something so he could definitely be a starter this year if it continues. He has talent and seems to work hard.
