Cameron Sutton Gets 1st Team Reps

Interdastin. They really really like what they see from Sutton orrrr they really really don't like what they see with Burns?

Sounds like a rotation is inevitable and Steelers will probably part ways with Haden next season. Burns and Sutton starting CBs next season.

Im hoping they are just looking for a winning setup for sub packages. Though Burns has had some rough spots I feel he has played well lately.

Sutton needs to be on the field period.

Not happening. Haden signed a 3 year contract. It isn't worth it to dump a shut down corner for nearly $4M cap hit, when we don't know if Burns is even starter capable anymore.

Burns has been burned A LOT. Hell when any team throws deep or down the middle of the field i just cringe.

Burns would be a much better corner if he stopped looking in the backfield. That's how I'd approach him as a coach. Watch your receiver, watch your zone responsibilities, and never look at the QB.

They should have noticed that already and would be addressing it. Bad habits are hard to break, but you just have to. It will be win or go home soon and mess ups in the playoffs send you to the sofa.

This is very true, and we've had too many lapses the last five or so weeks. However, I think that it's worst trait as a player. Of course, you get beat pretty well as a result, but other than that, I feel that Burns has played pretty well. He's been on the receiving end of some pretty lame *** PI calls the last two weeks, particularly the one to Gronkowski last week, and the one to Wallace the week prior. As a matter of fact, the two PI penalties against Baltimore were complete bs. Let's see how he responds to this. It worked wonders for guys like Ike Taylor and Keenan Lewis, and Burns has a higher pedigree than the two of them.

plus burns and Sutton are still on rookie contracts

We have 3 corners on the field most of the time anyway. Burns played really well when they went to man. If Sutton now starts ahead of him, it means we are going back to zone. Zone is where Burns got burned a few times on double moves looking in the backfield. That doesn't happen when he is locked in man coverage at the line.

They do use three CBs most of the time, but Hilton has been too good as the inside CB to take off the field.

If they want to have Burns and Sutton compete for playing time, I'm all for it, but one of them will be playing a lot less in the process.

Oh I agree on the PI that's the most bs call in the NFL. The nonsense that is pulled damn near every passing play that isn't called is just absurd. The refs basicly pick and choose how they want to influence a game that way. It's just awful.

At this point of the season, I don't care who plays. I want the Steelers to make a deep run and the fact that the coaches are still looking to put the best guys on the field at this point of the season is encouraging.

They need to stick with Artie Burns instead of putting someone out there that hasent played a down in a meaningful game Haden will start Christmas night and won't miss a beat

Artie Burns doesn't suck. He's pretty solid. Made a few mistakes but the dude is 22 years old.

A lot here seem to forget that fact #81.. Artie needs to be put in WAY more man to man play as that helps keeps his eyes out of the backfield. He will learn
that more and more as he plays. He has shut other teams #1s & 2s down and as his experience grows his abilities will also.

Salute the nation
