TJ restructure gives us $9M in cap space. Who are we bringing in to help the O Line? Eric Fisher?

I was leaning this way..Maybe to extend Sutton but likely not to currently aquire anyone of significance. Don't the Steelers usually carry a few.or more million into each year for potential injury or other signings? Outside of maybe Sutton, I'd guess this is just squirelling away money in case it is needed in-season.
Yeah… its a smart move now… unspent monet rolls over and as tge season goes on, you get less and less from restructures , so do it now and worse case use it next yearMaybe to extend Sutton but likely not to currently aquire anyone of significance. Would love for them to use some money on a LT but that seems like a pipedream now.Yeah… its a smart move now… unspent monet rolls over and as tge season goes on, you get less and less from restructures , so do it now and worse case use it next year

Dream until your dream comes true!
LT quality is a QB injury waiting to happen. Let's be proactive and get a starter before the injury does happen.I read they freed up less than $7 million. Unless they had a bunch already sitting there, this is just the money they like to head into the season with. No more signings unless there is an injury.
Who gets that gig if Moore goes down Scott? I would presume they would move Chukes to the left and let the newbie man the right with Scott as the swing. But you would think there is better depth options out there than Scott.LT quality is a QB injury waiting to happen. Let's be proactive and get a starter before the injury does happen.
Sure but they won't. If they were going to, they already would have. Chuks sucked at left for 3 years. That's why they moved him to RT last year. Believe it or not, Moore was much better. Many seem to forget how bad Chuks was last preseason before they moved Moore over. Moore wasn't the greatest by any stretch but he was better than Chuks.LT quality is a QB injury waiting to happen. Said differently, that QB injury on another team may allow the Steelers to trade Rudy for a serviceable OT......keeping the other 2 QBs upright and less injured.LT quality is a QB injury waiting to happen. Let's be proactive and get a starter before the injury does happen.
Unfortunately, there aren't a whole lot of starting-capable left tackles sitting around out there waiting to be called into work. I recently heard (don't know where), that many teams in the league are having trouble getting offensive linemen. I'm guessing there isn't a huge trade market for starting left tackles, either.LT quality is a QB injury waiting to happen. Let's be proactive and get a starter before the injury does happen.
Like I said earlier, it’s less important now. If tgey don’t use that money, it doesn’t expire anymore… it rolls over to next year…I was hoping they were done having to kick $$$ into the future.
I 100% get what you are saying. but without paying a franchise QB. for a few years, hopefully we get into great a great cap situation. I would rather have kept TJs salary the same and get as much paid off before we sign KP to a second hopefully much bigger contractLike I said earlier, it’s less important now. Most big contracts are built to do this.
Its less mortgaging the future these days as just hedging your bets in case the year goes really good and you need a piece later because of injury
Its semi irrelevant because of the cap increases over the next six years… 20 mil per each year… tge money we are pushing forward will never be more valuable than this season and here is tge thing, lets say closer to the deadline bush is a total mess and we opt to trade for an ilb, their cap hit will be a fraction of the full amount by then, because some of the games were already played and payed for… but if we tried to restructure watt then, we would get far less money in doing so… they would have had to push more players out to get the same total benefit… this ties one player that is going to be here long term no matter what up, and if we don’t spend it, it rolls right back over into next seasonI 100% get what you are saying. but without paying a franchise QB. for a few years, hopefully we get into great a great cap situation.
