The city of Memphis wants the earthly remains of General Nathan Bedford Forrest exhumed and moved out of Dodge. His wife's, too.

CBS affiliate WREG reports, "On Tuesday evening the Memphis City Council unanimously passed a resolution to remove ... Forrest’s remains from under his statue in the Health Sciences Park on Union Avenue....

“'It is no longer politically correct to glorify someone who was a slave trader, someone who was a racist on public property,' said City Council member Myron Lowery."

House Passes Ban On Confederate Flags In Federal Cemeteries

The House on Tuesday evening passed an amendment that would prohibit Confederate flags from being displayed on graves in federal cemeteries.

Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) proposed the ban as an amendment to the Interior Department spending bill.

Currently, the National Park Service allows individuals to place Confederate flags on Civil War veterans' graves on Confederate Memorial Day

aside from that, NO ONE glorifies Forrest. But, if someone were inquisitive enough and looked up Nathan Bedford Forrest to do some research, they'd plainly see he was not solely a slave trader.
He has a ******* park and a forest named for him.

He was also a Democrat and elected alderman of the city.
Just as Myron ******* Lowerly is a ******* Democrat and was elected.

CNN anchor Don Lemon recently floated the idea of re-thinking the Jefferson Memorial, dedicated to Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, since he was a slave owner.

“There may come a day when we want to re-think Jefferson, I don’t know if we should do that, but when we get to that point, I’ll be happy to partake in that particular discussion,” Lemon said.

“It should come down,” one D.C. resident told PJ Media, referencing the Jefferson Memorial in Washington.

“If we do that, though, George Washington owned slaves. Should we rename Washington, D.C.?” he was asked.

I work in Memphis a few days a month and it's a cesspool full of thugs. All the whites have moved to N. West Mississippi to places like South Haven, Olive Branch, and Horn Lake. They are great places to live.

This is what happens when you elect socialist dems into office. You get stupid non-issues like this. It will never stop. Just like gay marriage. It isn't about giving them equal rights. It's about special treatment. All things now have to be PC or you are going to be blasted by the socialist intelligencia because they know better than you do.

Memphis didn't learn the lesson that Detroit was supposed to teach everyone. Memphis must need special ed classes.

Just don't burn down Rendezvous during the upcoming race riots.

Actually they did learn from Detroit. Chase all the white people out and that assures continued reelection of black Democrats.
My company's HQ is in Memphis. Once we didn't have lunch at the convention center since another group had the dining area booked. It was a Saturday afternoon and NO PLACE was open. This is because the only jobs in downtown Memphis are with the government which is closed on weekends and almost all the shops and restaurants say **** it and don't open. All there is is Beale St. which was too far for me to go and get back in time. We haven't had our annual meeting there in five years now, the company doesn't say why but I think it's because the crime is too high.

Just don't burn down Rendezvous during the upcoming race riots.
