College Football Week 13

Playoff picture starting to take shape but still some key games left. SEC fans freaking out that Indiana may take a playoff spot from a 3 loss SEC team. Oh the horror.

Michigan just straight up bought a high school QB. Kid was committed to LSU and Michigan publicly offered him $10 Million. SEC fans like the NIL era, but they should be careful what they wish for, the north schools have way more money. Sure, north teams are new to paying players and SEC has decades of experience, so it may take time to learn.

4 Penn State at Minnesota 3:30 CBS PSU -11.5

For Penn State to make it to the Big 10 Champ game, they would need to win out, Oregon wins out. Indiana beats Ohio State. Michigan beats Ohio State. So, pretty unlikely.

Minnesota is a decent team. They force a lot of INTs. Allar is great at taking care of the ball. Penn State should be able to control this game and pull away so long as they don't make a bunch of mistakes.

Minn's QB has been pretty good but not under pressure. He'll have some pressure this week, unless the Big 10 refs allow Abdul Carter to be held on nearly every play like they have been.

Tyler Warren needs to be a Heisman finalist. No QB is deserving this year. warren is carrying the Penn State offense. He has nearly the same yards per reception as Travis Hunter. Hunter is actually having a mediocre season but apparently having a mid WR season + a mid DB season is supposed to mean Heisman.

5 Indiana at 2 Ohio State 12:00 FOX OSU -10.5
This is the game of the week. May have more SEC fans watching than anybody else as they want to shoehorn in extra SEC teams to the playoff. If Indiana loses, they'll demand they be left out, same if OSU gets a 2nd loss.

In reality, Indiana is in the playoff so long as they don't get blown out. It's true their schedule has been weak, but they've been blowing people out. I'd love to see them pull the upset but I think OSU will be too physical. Hoping for a great game at least.

9 Ole Miss at Florida 12:00 ABC Miss -11.5
There are people actually trying to push Florida as a playoff team if they can win this. And simultaneously these same people would still say Ole Miss should still be in the playoff if they lose this one. Because Florida is awesome now apparently. I'd say Ole Miss is out with loss 3 but they aren't. ESPN is already talking about how 3 loss SEC teams should get in ahead of basically Indiana and Penn State.

13 SMU at Virginia 12:00 ESPN2 SMU -10

SMU can clinch an ACC title spot with a win. Virginia is looking to become bowl eligible.

Kentucky at 3 Texas 3:30 ABC Tex -20
early in the season Kentucky almost beat Georgia then pulled the upset vs Ole Miss. Then they lost 4 straight until they got a win in their SEC late season cupcake game vs Murray State. Do they have 1 more upset in them? Doubtful. Texas just needs to not lok ahead to their finale vs Texas A&M.

14 BYU at 21 Arizona State 3:30 ESPN ASU -3

BYU coming off their first loss vs Kansas last week but still control their destiny for the Big 12 title game. ASU is having their best season in a long time mainly due to their redshirt freshman QB Sam Leavitt. ASU also has a shot at the Big 12 title game if they can win this game.

16 Colorado at Kansas 3:30 FOX CO -3
Colorado also controls their destiny for a spot in the Big 12 title game. It's looking like the Big 12 will only get 1 playoff team so this is a must win. Kansas had a rough start to the season but has gotten better each week. They got the upset over BYU last week. Kansas has some decent CBs.

19 Army vs 6 Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium 7:00 NBC ND -14
undefeated Army. Their 13 game win streak is the longest in the nation. Army has already clinched a spot in the AAC Title game against Tulane. Notre Dame needs to win out because they don't play in the SEC so losses have consequences for them.

7 Alabama at Oklahoma 7:30 ABC Ala -13.5

Bama is fighting for a playoff spot and Oklahoma is trying to get bowl eligible and avoid a losing record. Oklahoma's offense sucks but their defense is tough. They fired their OC so maybe they'll have a few surprises for Bama. If they score 20 it would be a surprise.

15 Texas A&M at Auburn 7:30 ESPN TAM -2.5
TAM still has a shot at the SEC Title game and the playoffs. Auburn is 4-6 and needs to win out to avoid a losing record. TAM has been up and down this year. They have the showdown with Texas next week but they better not overlook desperate Auburn.

USC at UCLA 10:30 NBC USC -5
the first Big 10 matchup in the battle of LA. Both teams had rough first B10 seasons. UCLA needs to win out to be bowl eligible. USC needs 1 more win for a bowl and they have Notre Dame next week. That makes this a must win for both teams. USC benched QB Miller Moss. UCLA has improved and is playing tough to end the year.

Ohio State's Center blew out an achilles in practice this week. More OL shuffling. Losing a C is never good.

Looks like I get the Penn game on Paramount+. I’m going to try and catch part of game during my lunch.

Thanks for these threads Tape, appreciate them.

Do you mean Ohio State beats Indiana? How does Indiana not get into the Championship if they beat Ohio State?

Unless Indiana comes closer to beating OSU than Penn State, I think Penn State gets in over them.

Penn State at Minnesota - a trap game if I ever saw one.
Somehow I don't think Penn State is going to overlook Minnesota for that massive finale against powerhouse Maryland next week.

Ohio State’s offense is *** right now. Indiana has them dialed up at the moment.

As I post that OSU converts a 4th and 10

IU is in it if they win today

Wow is this a sentence with four two letter words in a row? lol

Watch out for angry trailer park boyfriends on parole.

I partake in your thinking, Like you, I like a little fear in the hunt but also want to be safe. I screen the ladies for only soft crime parolee’s .

I’m not disappointed that IU is losing, I am disappointed they aren’t playing better.

Looks like IU is the Great Pretender. They may get blown out.

I am now watching Ole Miss vs Florida

Indiana is finding out, much like Penn State knows, Ohio State is not the same as Purdue.
