there was not a lot good about the coogs last season. ****** offense, the OL was awful and the skill players were not much better. I am going to go back over a few defenders but the best one was just a junior and is returning...hope a new coach will mean some better guys next draft.
one of the two Coogs, I am going to pimp this year (after the Big XII pro day) will be Donovan Smith
he has the size and the physical traits to make a good nfl qb
he can make all the throws and is a dual threat. He is fast enough and is a strong runner. In my opinion, UH spent too much time calling designed runs for him rather than their RBs
He had a bad season last year, part of it his fault, a lot of it crappy OL play and lack of top WRs. His top two guys left for greener pastures Brown to miami and Golden to UT
he problem is his footwork can be shaky, leading to over thrown balls and a bad tendency in tight games to stare down his receiver leading to picks
I would not take him until late, if he is there in the 7th...roll the dice maybe he can be the first QB the Steelers develop
the other is Maliq Carr TE - 6'6" 265# runs a 4.63...he did not have a lot of catches but that is more on the crappy offense. he caught damn near everything thrown his was, he is a solid blocker and good team guy, but I don't think the Steelers need him but if they want more camp bodies then a 7th or UDFA signing
