We're 3-0 since Ray Lewis said you don't even need to bring a chinstrap to play this version of the Steelers.

The last three teams they beat all scored at least 23 points.

That being said, it is entirely possible that Cool Shades, Three Point Todd, and DLB have righted the ship. The acid test will be this week when they play away at a team with a lousy record. If they lose to the Jets I don't think anyone here will be surprised.
'Tis the way of the new NFL. You win by 1) scoring more points than the other team or 2) not allowing the other team to score as many points as you. The Steelers traditionally favored #2 but the era of RogerBall favors #1.

Agreed ... unfortunately. This week will be a test that determines whether the coaching staff is able to keep their heads together and game plan for a losing team as well as they do for a winning team. And if they can get the players motivated and not allow them to fall into the "we can just show up against this team" trap.

The last time Tomlin/Roethlisberger went into New York to face the Jets with a winning record (7-2), in their 10th game of the year as huge favorites (9.5 points) we ended up losing 19-16 in overtime.
I never will count my chickens with this regime. Never.
The fact we're only 4.5 point favorites right now is scaring the **** out of me. We should be 7+ point favorites right now against any 1-8 team. Home or away. The fact the wise guys think we're only 4.5 favorites is throwing me for a loop.

The home team automatically gets 3 so they're really 1.5 point favorites. If you really want the **** scared out of you.

You've got it backwards. On a neutral field they'd be favored by 7.5 points. The 3 points is already figured into the line. The Jets are 1-8, but it's 1-8 against a very tough schedule, which likely plays into the line. Of course if you understand how odds work, the wiseguys don't set the line based on what they think the outcome will be. They set it based on what they think the bettors think the outcome will be, which if they guess right, will result in an even amount of money being bet on both sides.

Browns scored 31 on us. Outside of the Jax game where they scored 6 (WTF?), they have scored 21 or more in every game.
In the game before and after us, the Texans scored 28 or more points. They have scored 21 or more points in 5 of 9 games this year.
The colts have scored 20 or more points in every game this season. They have scored 40 three times, including the game after us (didnt have Reggie Wayne against us).
The Ravens have scored 23 or more points in 7 of 9 games this season (twice against us, so that leaves 5 of 7 games against other teams). In the three games before us they scored 24 or more.

what has changed the O is Ben believing in Haley.
The D changed after Harrison got in games...him, Troy, and Kiesel have influenced the youngsters to start hitting again. Like Silverback said, 'don't blame LeBeau, they are just out of position.'
When Harrison and Troy, left for a couple plays, then came back out on the field, those young guys had to be thinking...WTF! Showing the STEELER way....
