No link yet, just saw it breaking.

been saying that for a week now
rumor is he'll go to Miami

So here are the age 28 free agent RBs right now:
Delvin Cook
Ezekiel Elliot
Kareem Hunt
Leonard Fournette

Teams really do fear that age 29 drop off… they cut these guys a year early just to be safe

Hey if they want better careers then they should pick a position that is not quite so simple to play that causes so much wear and tear
Yeah when you don't have a ton a money and they want you to play running back.in collage you say no I'm gonna play receiver even though I'm 5'9 220 and haven't played defense.

Elliot has looked done the last couple years. Pollard has been much more productive for Dallas. Fournette seemed to fall off as well. Hunt and Cook probably have a few years in the tank still

I am just concerned about the team I root for. I think we are set. Good luck Dalvin,
Have always preferred homegrown.

He will get paid. Just not like he would if he was in another position. Rookie contract rules changed the long term value of a running back. You get all the milk without paying for the cow. The NFLPA should work with the NFL to recognize there is a difference at this position.

It’s also one of the highest injury rates and by far the biggest body beater suffering post NFL career.

Of these, I'd be most interested in Hunt.
Least amount of wear due to 8 game suspension and splitting time with Chubb in Cleveland.
Can run, catch, and block.
Most tread left on tires.
Career 4.5 yards per carry.

I'm not sure you can compensate thar. To me the issue is simply that under the rookie salary cap rules you have to prove it before you get paid. Well it's becoming clear that by the time you prove it you are done at this position. Expect this to be the last year you get all in commitment from Harris. He is a smart guy and can see the writing on the wall.

Najee needs to see the handwriting on the wall... We'll be done with you in 2-3 years.

RB's are usually picked out for their position because of their gift of speed. RB's usually end up there because in Pee-Wee Football they are faster than all the other kids.

So coaches naturally place them at RB

After all it is called Running Back

Yes and eventually like all other positions it becomes a body type.

Im just saying that there are certain positions that guys who can’t cut it at another position get put at… for instance Tackles are more valuable than guard… often tackles that can’t cut it are repurposed as guards… cbs that cant cut it are moved to safety… as are some smaller lbs…
You hear about Qbs converting to RB all the time… you never hear about a rb converting to QB… ( well except Lamar Jackson I guess…)

Yeah that was a lot to type to make a LJ joke, but totally worth it…

Tackles that get moved to guard usually lack arm length. Safety is usually a slightly different body type then a corner. Bottom line most of this gets sorted out in college.
