David Carr...WTF Is He Thinking?

David Carr is a joke. The Houston Texans first ever pick was supposed to be their franchise QB but apparently got sacked one too many times. Must have taken too many shots to the head. Never turned out to be anything more than a backup , most notably to Eli Manning in NY.

Well Ben is just a game manager anyways.

I'm not going to David Carr for any football analysis, but my goodness, what a way to completely discredit yourself. He puts his brother in a No. 4, come on!

It's time for Ben to have a #1 season. He will never have a better chance with more skill than this year.

Show Me What You GOT!!!!

I can see his point to some extent. I don't necessarily agree with his picks but his review of Ben has some merit. Last couple years especially, you can see Ben's decline. He takes longer to get 'warmed up' and we have seen some dumb interceptions get interjected into the mix . He still has a decent arm but I think he is starting to lose some distance and you can time his 40 with a sundial. He may not be as bad as this dude thinks he is but he's not what he used to be either.

One or two more years outta him and we can hopefully add #7 for #7 to his resume.

Ben has always and will always throw some dumb interceptions, but he makes equal, if not more incredible plays that few others in the history of the game can make because of that same style. Say what you want about the slow start, but there was something more than he was coming out of the gates slowly. The offensive scheme wasn't the same as two years again and when they finally said screw it and modified the scheme, he went off and was the most productive QB in the entire league down the stretch.

But look at who this guy has ahead of Ben:

1. Brady - Fair
2. Rodgers - Fair
3. Brees - Fair
4. Carr - Embarrassing how laughable this is. At his best, Carr has never been at top 5 QB.
5. Wilson - I put Wilson right below Ben.
6. Stafford - Have fun putting up all of those numbers seemingly always playing from behind.
7. Rivers - Team hasn't won more than nine games since 2009.
8. Ryan - Ben is knocked for having Brown and Bell, but Ryan is credited for elevating those around him (Jones and Freeman...okay) and talks up the addition of Ridley.
9. Newton - Makes it out like Newton can put up 400 yards at will? Seriously? He's done it twice and it was his first two games. Ben is tied for fourth ALL-TIME with 10.
10. Garoppolo - I actually think he's too low heading into 2018, but not higher than Ben.

The guy is an idiot, at worst Ben is 4th, it he could go no huddle and control the pace of the offense like Brady, Rodgers, and Brees his numbers would jump and he'd be in their conversation.
How many QBs turn wrs into big number guys like Ben has, Ward, Holmes, Wallace, AB, and possibly JuJu is next.

Ben is definately anywhere in the top 4. David Carr's list is totally laughable with especially his brother's location. Ben's window is closing as he has 3 years tops but those are going to be a quality 3 years or less pending on the timeliness of #7.

This list is **** and who cares where Ben is listed other than **** storm creations.

Salute the nation

His 4th greatest yardage output of his career -last season.

I will buy he isn't as mobile as he once was obviously.

But not buying he is declining in any other way.

What NFL QB has the record for 500 yard passing games?

Big Ben with three.

Carr can just suck it.

LOL...Tell us what you really think Slash.

Please don't interrupt my feeble defense of this tool but his point was not what he has done but what he is capable of today..this year, this season.

Yes, he's a future Hall of Famer and there's no doubt he can still help the Steelers. But he has the most talented skill players in the league on his unit, and that pair — Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell — makes him look great 14 seasons in. I don't think Big Ben could win a ton of games without them at this stage in his career.

I'm sorry but he does have a point and if you think Ben is anywhere near what he was then good on ya. I hope he shows his critics that they don't know nuffin.
I'll be watchin' with baited breath

Steelers fans know its the other way around... look at Holmes and Wallace after they left.... ben has carried this team since he been here and will again this season... it’s all the Super Bowl boys !!!!!!!!!!!!L gO STEEELLerrrrssss

Ben threw for 4,000+ this past season, but can't do it this year? AB and Bell would miss Ben more than vice versa. Anyone ever wonder why it seems like we are a wr factory? Ben is a huge reason there.

But look at how Wallace, Wheaton, and Holmes blew up after leaving the Steelers.

Wait ...

The same point that he uses to knock Ben is what he uses to prop up Matt Ryan.

Also, which of those guys are you taking ahead of Ben in 2018? Where do you rank him?

I don't know man..I don't watch all the games every week, I only watch our/my team and can only comment on what I believe I see. If you are a stout Ben guy, then I applaud ya. I just don't see the same production in his future, I see a definite decline with a 14 year vet....but there are solid arguments on both sides..

Of course there will be a decline at some point, but Carr's reasoning was very weak. You do know he has Brady at the top and he's the oldest starting QB in the league.

I don't understand his argument. Maybe I'm a homer but I didn't see any decline last season. So because he's a year older, he's going to decline this year? But Lord Brady isn't?
